I've shouted when it wasn't a show (a few times, at least). So I know it isn't always. But I would have been at least as happy kneeling or on my face before God as I was dancing and jumping around.

It's hard to understand why we think its ok to be anything but considerate in worship! But, I do understand what you are saying. I've been in services where holes were put in the walls, people knocked over by some runner, and kids crying because they were afraid. When we went to certain churches, I learned to try to sit as much in the middle of the pew as possible where it was safer and was harder for them to get to me!

I think God notices those of us who are quiet in worship as much as He notices those who are extremely expressive!

Me, too. And loves us all for who we are... whether we are loud and boisterous, or still and quiet, or anything in between.

I wear jeans on a mid week or sunday morn service. Usually throw on a pair of dockers or slacks for sunday evening. whatev.
Used to wear jeans and sandals... but that's too California for south Texas. haha.

One of the challenges the modern-day church faces is people who have "Sunday religion." they become something on Sunday that they usually aren't. It's just a dress-up for one day of the week.

Often, dressing up is a bit of a metaphor of that. We dress up all nice and shiny and look different than we do in "real life."

So we've removed that facade and just dress normally.

I dress up so the people will be more receptive to me. Does that make any sense?
I know how I used to judge/view saints showing up in jeans! Jean skirt worn to church is holy for girls! Guy shows up to church in denim pants, he must have backslid in between services.

Yep, it does. Much of it has to do with the culture you're in. Obviously, if you're in a dress-up church and it's expected, jeans aren't gonna work too well.
