No, I never typed the words "If we had persecution in America it would be because there is truth".
Here's what I said: "the reason why it seems there isn't persecution in America, is because no one in America (or very few) are preaching any truth at all."
Perhaps I can walk you through this.
Falun Gong practitioners are persecuted in China, unto death. Do they believe Jesus died on the cross for the sins of his people, and that Christ is the only way to heaven? No. Therefore, persecution alone is not indicative of truth.
However, it is written in
2 Timothy 3:12 "Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution". Therefore living godly after the example of Christ results in persecution.
The fact that there is an apparent absence of persecution of America's 'Mega Churches', and very little persecution in general in this nation which can by no stretch be called a 'Christian nation', is itself an indictment of it's 'churches'.
Understand now?
With as many liars, thieves and murderers in political office, yet we have no apparent persecution of people who are supposedly 'living godly in Christ Jesus'? That's because they aren't, and the sad thing is, they don't even realize they aren't because the twisting of God's Word runs so deep.
Also, if someone gets persecuted for telling some Arabs that Jesus was a cross-dressing lesbian, or some Chinese they can 'get saved' by walking down an aisle and having an emotional experience or releasing tension, are those 'preachers' suffering for righteousness sake? No. They're suffering in the same category as Falun Gong practitioners: some people getting mowed over by a corrupt government for reasons other than truth.
