Republicans pander to Christians just like Democrats pander to African-Americans.
All talk and no action.
We had a Republican President, house and senate and still didn't do squat.

As an African-American Christian whose Christian circle is in large part outside of the African-American community, I get to see the results of the pandering to each side equally and independent of each other. That is the point I've always been trying to make on AFF. I see the blind partisanship and the games that politicians are allowed to play because of it...and it frustrates me.

Yeah in my opinion she came across as someone that was trying to avoid giving a straight answer or making excuses that were untrue. She would have been better off if she answered straight forward and honestly.

It's going to be a slow start. I have a child's bedroom chair and footstool to finish, my daughter's b/d is Friday and I have a wedding shower on Saturday. The guest bedroom is full of flowers, and glass. lol
So far I'm reading about her early years of growing up and her beginning marriage with Todd.
I don't see, after reviewing Oprah and Walters clips again, how anyone says she is avoiding questions. They are asking the very things that she details in the book. As she was relentlessly dogpiled, I'm sure we will see that happening more as her book is circulated. Walters is saying that the McCain camp says her book is fiction. I find that hard to believe, across the board. She didn't follow political correctness in Alaska and I'm very sure she didn't want to do that during the campaign. What people "expect" from candidates can, many times, cloud what needs to actually be said. Our ears and eyes are trained - what a shame. We can't even be real anymore. I see that in the church as well, in many instances.
Barbara Walters had this to say after her interview with Sarah - Smart girl. Very confident and very appealing. She stands by what she says and believes.
Rush stayed away from the personal questions and worked the policy issues. He had this to say about her book - " that it is "truly one of the most substantive policy books I've read." I haven't reached that part yet, so I'll see if that is true.
I am amazed at the attitude toward her when she embodies the free market-capitalism that makes us great, the pioneering spirit, the Constitution, etc. - WHILE - Obama is pulling a curtain down on this country. It's just amazing.

Importantly, when Barack Obama appeared on Oprah’s set, they shared a love seat. Oprah sat next to the would-be candidate with an arm outstretched in an open and affirming posture. Conversely, the staging for Palin’s appearance was less like a living room, more like a hotel lobby, and not a very inviting one.
But while Oprah didn’t do anything that could be interpreted as supportive – no comfy couch or “girlfriend” moments –she didn’t necessarily undermine Palin either.
Leaving me…still curious.
If the appearance was meant to encourage sales of Palin’s book, it worked. I’m going shopping. I hope Mrs. Palin will do what the media has not yet done for me – finally shed some light on who she is and what sort of leader she might be.
These days, where you fall on the crucial issue of Sarah Palin tells the rest of us all we need to know about your character. You're either A) a scum-sucking, terror-loving elitist or B) a radical, tea bag-loving simpleton.
Yet believe it or not, one can (as I do) admire Palin's charisma and roots, appreciate her dissent on the policy experiments brainy folks in Washington are cooking up and, at the same time, believe she has no business running for president in 2012.
In fact, all you haters out there motivate me to root for her.
There's nothing wrong, for instance, with The Associated Press' assigning a crack team of investigative journalists to sift through every word of Palin's book, "Going Rogue," for inaccuracies. You only wish similarly methodical muckraking were applied to President Barack Obama's two self-aggrandizing tomes -- or even the health care or cap-and-trade bills, for that matter.
