Kevin Bankston, a lawyer for the Electronic Frontier Foundation, a civil liberties group in San Francisco that is pursuing a similar lawsuit against the government, called Holder's decision "incredibly disappointing."

"The Obama administration has essentially adopted the position of the Bush administration in these cases, even though candidate Obama was incredibly critical of both the warrantless wiretapping program and the Bush administration's abuse of the state secrets privilege," said Bankston.

These Obama libs are soo two faced. Holder, get a grip.

i don't either. I have an office computor that logs all calls. it has a fraud detector report. I busted a janitor in our building by virtue of getting reports on his using phones in various offices to call 900 porn numbers. He sat at the receptionists desk and called sex hotlines. after 11 P.M. I even got my neighbors reimbursed. He also opened desk drawers and took out cash and small change. Every body has some money for a vending machine. The charges were under 2,000 dollars. If I had not violated his privacy and we caught this on our bills after the phone bulls arrived, this would have gone over 10 thousand dollars.

There is a far cry of difference between a person or company putting such equipment on their own phones and government entities doing surveillance without proper warrant.

The only ones who are capable of this are Abby and Tim McGee from the show NCIS.

If you already KNOW the routers passwords and/or have the physical hardware in your possession, then you can reset it, but otherwise your out of luck.

From what I read, the taps were very discrete. By international, one party was outside the US or both and they had been flagged as a terror risk.
Now my nephew at a funeral last month is a secret Agent. We could talk of some of his cases. Our protection needs the same weapons the criminals have. The criminals wire tapp their enemy. We should carry pistols if the drug dealers carry AK 47's?

Just my opinion. The ACLU is left of liberal and won't get very aggressive with wiretaps done by Obama because he is theirs.

I love NCIS Abby and McGee are very good characters.

The two bills that pertain to the internet, intranet, cyberspace are S.773 (Cybersecurity Act of 2009)and S.778.

SB 778 is "to establish, within the Executive Office of the President, the Office of the National Cybersecurity Advisor". It discusses the how the advisor is to be appointed and their duties. The bill was referred to the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs.

SB 773 CYBERSECURITY ACT OF 2009
SEC. 18 CYBERSECURITY RESPONSIBIITIES AND AUTHORITY discusses the responsibilities and authority of the President. The main part in question is under SUB-SECTION 2 which states "(2) may declare a cybersecurity emergency and order the limitation or shutdown of Internet traffic to and from any compromised Federal Government or United States critical infrastructure information system or network;".

My personal feelings are twofold on this issue. On one hand I can understand how the internet plays a role in national security; and in a situation (which would have to be extreme) limiting or shutting down internet traffic may be necessary. On the other hand doing such a thing can have adverse effects in the health care industry. Several HCOs (health care organizations) rely and heavily utilize the internet and intranet to look up information and communicate across the organization, as well as externally when treating a patient. I have the links below for those that would like to thoroughly read either or both of these bills. Both of these bills have been referred to the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs

Honesty though... I think this is being hyped up into something that it isn't. We'll have to see. A concern of mine is that we as Christians have no issue with playing into the hype... and there are no reprocussions for our doing this. We can accuse any politician of the most outlandish stuff to the point of outright lying or perpetuating outright lies and we walk away feeling like we've done no wrong.

Do any conservatives ever feel they've done wrong when playing into hype like this?

Catching Wild Pigs



A chemistry professor in a large college had some exchange students in the class. One day while the class was in the lab the Professor noticed one young man (exchange student) who kept rubbing his back, and stretching as if his back hurt.



The professor asked the young man what was the matter. The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist government..


In the midst of his story he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked, 'Do you know how to catch wild pigs?'


The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line. The young man said this was no joke. 'You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come everyday to eat the free corn. When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in The last side. The pigs, who are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat, you slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd.


Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn. They are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity.


The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening to America. The government keeps pushing us toward socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare, medicine, drugs, etc.. While we continually lose our freedoms -- just a little at a time.

One should always remember: There is no such thing as a free lunch! Also, a politician will never provide a service for you cheaper than you can do it yourself.

Also, if you see that all of this wonderful government 'help' is a problem confronting the future of democracy in America, you might want to send this on to your friends. If you think the free ride is essential to your way of life then you will probably delete this email, but God help you when the gate slams shut!
