So now that we got this cleared up... I happen to know a wonderful counselor and I believe she can help you with your bout of denial you are going thru there sis... See these things happen when you have teenagers around.. and since you have those weird kids (we all know youth pastors have weird kids around them all the time) as kids have all lost their brains we understand and accept that you are just in need of therapy for your denial issues and then you will come forth as the true owner!! GLORY!!!
|
IF I were an owner...I would say that if I wanted my identity as such kept a secret then that would be my choice and nobody elses business. And if someone didn't like that and threatened to leave, well, beware of the door on the backside.
Thats my opinion on the matter anyway. I can talk smart cause I'm NOT an owner.
As for kids losing their brains...thats often true and they do tend to take me with them at times.

Well, amazingly I speak pretty much whenever I desire to. I wasn't 'hiding' so my arrival wasn't anything you facilitated.

Of course I didn't expect anything other than the sputtering answer he gave to my challenge to show or ensample SPECIFIC examples of "preacher bashing" ... "oh, many said there was."
Uh ... see the "fish" reference "Dean."
Read it slowly.
It's a lot easier to spout some irrelevant rhetoric than it is to actually deal with the substance of one's post.
|
Ah, yes. The 'rhetoric' button must needs be pushed. It actually wasn't rhetoric at all. To be honest, Tim, the post had little to do with responding to you. It was simply an opportunity well taken.
I've known from the starting of this forum that we would eventually have to deal with the 'memory of Jim Yohe'. Your post simply provided an opportunity to say what needed to be said. It's not for Jim Yohe, it's for you and I. That's not rhetoric; that's fact.

And SURELY nothing was said about the irony of everyone hollering about "preacher bashing" when the root problems at NFCF was caused by one of their own.
|
While an unpleasant, unfortunate mark on the prior forum I think it's a terrible mistake to think that was the root problem. In so many ways it was doomed before the scenarios of the final days.

But let's cut to the chase here, "Dean."
You people have always known who I was, known my address and phone number pretty much.
Do I expect everyone to post their phone numbers?
No.
But there should be enough accountability that identities are established and "owners" acting as "super-moderators" aren't hiding behind anonymity and trying to make the rank-and-file swallow this bull manure that it's done for some noble reason.
|
Accountability is not a problem. There are several Adminstrators and even new ones. I suspect it's safe to say I ask a lot more questions than I offer any answers when it comes to forum administration.
You know me. Contrary to your accusation, I'm not 'hiding'. I can, and will, eventually make my identity known but that will be in my time.

So that's all I have to say.
Mainly "Dean"... because I don't dialogue with cowards hiding behind anonymous screennames.
So you enjoy your little forum ... AND your little ego-trip.
|
It would appear that you missed it on two occassions here, Tim. I'm neither a coward nor on an ego trip. I think you'll see that in the next few days ahead.
I can see, however, where there may be a few that are a little gunshy about owners with egos. We have tried to stop that by having a well rounded team and multiple owners so that nobody can 'pull the plug' on their own. However, the discomfort alone will eventually neccessitate revealing our identity.
I like your posts, Tim, and would like to see you continue with us but only you can make that decision.

I agree on the part about the owner and as much as I respect the ones throwing a fit about knowing I think it is only right for the owners to stay annonymous as long as they would like...
As for the kid part.. I am no longer working with youth but I have 2 teenagers myself but mine took me away long ago to never return again!!!!

(thats what makes for good discussion.) All I am saying is we dont need attacking of a person for sake of being that person...
Mal said it very very good... argue principles and values all day long just leave the person alone

As I said concerning scruitinizing what someone says vs. scrutinizing who a person is, "The former should be encouraged and the latter discouraged."
You said, "but what I meant is some people.. honestly it didnt matter if they were speaking in a debate/ scriptural mode or if they were responding to a "fluff" thread... they were attacked just because of who they were and thats when it became ridiculous." I'm not entirely sure that happened but I can see where you might have that perception. Then again, it sometimes "seemed" (a word indicating a perception) that attacking certain people was approved of (if not encouraged) on NFCF while other people were supposedly "off limits" when it came to criticism.

And with the money they make from city government gun buy-back programs (buying back guns criminals purchased illegally), they get money to go out and buy more guns illegally, buy drugs, or otherwise further their criminal careers.

I know you did not just correct The Chan. I know that just did not happen.

Well, yes, it was a bit out of context; though the post to which I responded did mention gun control and the city where I live does use money in gun buy-back programs (at least according to the local police chief who mentioned it on the radio this morning).
