I just to this church just a few months ago for a sectional youth rally and that pulpit that is in the picture wasn't even being used.

Judas? Money Cometh? Pictures of money? Submission & Obedience banners? "Preaching Money" as a name? My sanctuary?

The evidence mounts. This is a joke.

Has to be.

Do you struggle with the words the banners display?
The message that you teach, and the message that a visitor probably gets from the banners are two different animals.

It's obvious that obedience and submission are priorities at this church. A visitor's first impression might be that obedience and submission to the local church authority is priority #1. Just being honest!

Re: remodeling my sanctuary

It's been years since I've been there but the layout of this sanctuary sure reminds me of the UPC in Bristol, CT. Anyway, since you asked for suggestions from the peanut gallery, here goes:
1. The banners must have served their purpose in time by now. UPDATE, UPDATE, UPDATE!
2. Change the basic color tone. Red tends to be harsh and provoking, (Kind of like the large banners inciting submission and obedience) while blue is more comfortable and pleasing. (Like the new banners can be, "Love, Joy, & Peace.") I just know someone’s going to condemn me for going soft - lol
3. Install a projector and rear projection video screen in both front corners.

You're right. The initial message is authoritarian. It makes it difficult to get out a message of love and grace if you start with obedience and submission, IMO.
