I don't think one has to agree with my org's decison, and or edicts. I can even appreciate a different point of view...but...some, actually, many posts I have read have surprised me with the anger behind them. Some of the members back in the day had been hurt by an organization too, and some were even still angry, but they posted with humility, love, and a Christ-like attitude....I miss those days. This is an example of a covert or passive aggressive form of taking a shot at a church.
Reminds me of preaching against gossip. Then at prayer meeting Matilda prays loudly that Leroy will stop drinkin' and chasing that home breaking waitress Sally.
"I have forgiven" is a nifty way to bring up something from the past.
I am going to borrow that one.

so coadie,
how is one expected to speak when writing a post on a discussion board?
how could he have expressed a cogent post with the same content message....sans the P/A form you alerted on?
If he did NOT mention his participation with the process of 'Forgiveness' some one would likely counsel him by saying..."you have unforgiveness and are giving bitterness a root".

I'm not UPCI myself but one can state their view in a kind way,if one disagrees with someone they don't have to be hateful.
One can disagree without being disagreeable.

Scott, I am not UPC either. I really don't understand the thread. Because I don't remember reading "UPC bashing." Of course, I know that if one is in it and therefore emotionally invested that you are more sensitive than others. I don't read every thread or even open them all. But from my memory people on AFF have debated what they think is incorrect teaching of the UPC, their control issues, internal issues related to their politics. Stuff like that. IMO that should be fair game. After all, those who have been hurt can find healing in talking about it. But I don't remember anyone bashing it just for the joy of it.??

No it is not "passive aggressive." How else should deltaguitar say that there was offense, but there has been forgivenss and "moved on." If that is "taking a shot" then no one can post anything except glowing reports about how wonderful everthing is at the wonderful first church of the UPC, or any other org. And even the most loyal denom people know that is not truth!

I agree with your post M, and it's not just UPC bashing, it's the bashing of apostolic doctrine such as Jesus Name baptism, and the Holy Ghost initially evidenced with speaking in other tongues. If you believe like a Baptist and not a Pentecostal why would you even be on this forum?

I would hope any of my questions concerning the New Birth don't come off as "bashing."

Does not sound like you at all, based on our interaction when we were dicussing the apostle on the Carpenter thread you asked intelligent q. and challenging q. And until EB started posting on the thread it was interesting and I was enjoying it. The truth can stand when questioned only the sacred cows of religion will fall.
