Re: Government Health Care

The so called medical crisis, is not yet a crisis IMO. However, if we did not have the illegal immigrant problem our medical problems would be much less. they are the largest abusers of the ER, causing folks with real ER's to suffer unnecessary.

If they don't have a true life or death situation, they need to be sent to a clinic somewhere and clear out the ER. IMO

This just in. Massachusetts created a gov health plan. I won't detail it but they are broke and doing all the manipulations and junk moves that Obama promises his plan won't allow. They are denying coverage of illegals. it cost too much. They fine people for not getting coverage. the system is abused and the service is sick. The news is coming on this fiasco just this week,. Horrible timing for the New Self appointed Healer.

Re: Government Health Care

Hawaii Ended their Universal Health care in 2008.

Gov. Linda Lingle's administration cited budget shortfalls and other available health care options for eliminating funding for the program. A state official said families were dropping private coverage so their children would be eligible for the subsidized plan.

"People who were already able to afford health care began to stop paying for it so they could get it for free," said Dr. Kenny Fink, the administrator for Med-QUEST at the Department of Human Services. "I don't believe that was the intent of the program."

I was also a bit confused to hear, just recently, Mitt Romney praising the work they did on the health care issue in Massachusetts when the reports are not supporting what he said.

Re: Government Health Care

Thanks Mitt

According to the suit, Massachusetts is now reimbursing Boston Medical only 64 cents for every dollar it spends treating the poor. About 10 percent of the hospital’s patients are uninsured — down from about 20 percent before the law’s passage in 2006. But many more are on Medicaid or Commonwealth Care, the state-subsidized insurance program for low-income residents.http://www.nytimes.com/2009/07/16/us...ital.html?_r=1

One of the state’s reimbursement rates to Boston Medical, dropped from $12, 476 in 2008 to $9,323 by 2009, the suit says.

How long can a restaurant survive if it is forced to cook and gets 64% of the menu prices.

Re: Government Health Care

They lied again. Said a single person on a policy could keep it. Page 16 says no.

Congress: It didn't take long to run into an "uh-oh" moment when reading the House's "health care for all Americans" bill. Right there on Page 16 is a provision making individual private medical insurance illegal.

When we first saw the paragraph Tuesday, just after the 1,018-page document was released, we thought we surely must be misreading it. So we sought help from the House Ways and Means Committee.

It turns out we were right: The provision would indeed outlaw individual private coverage. Under the Orwellian header of "Protecting The Choice To Keep Current Coverage," the "Limitation On New Enrollment" section of the bill clearly states:

"Except as provided in this paragraph, the individual health insurance issuer offering such coverage does not enroll any individual in such coverage if the first effective date of coverage is on or after the first day" of the year the legislation becomes law.

So we can all keep our coverage, just as promised — with, of course, exceptions: Those who currently have private individual coverage won't be able to change it. Nor will those who leave a company to work for themselves be free to buy individual plans from private carriers.

The man President Obama has chosen to be his science czar once advocated a shocking approach to the "population crisis" feared by scientists at the time: namely, compulsory abortions in the U.S. and a "Planetary Regime" with the power to enforce human reproduction restrictions.

"There exists ample authority under which population growth could be regulated," wrote Obama appointee John Holdren, as reported by FrontPage Magazine. "It has been concluded that compulsory population-control laws, even including laws requiring compulsory abortion, could be sustained under the existing Constitution if the population crisis became sufficiently severe to endanger the society."

According to the Los Angeles Times:

President Obama suggested at a town hall event Wednesday night that one way to shave medical costs is to stop expensive and ultimately futile procedures performed on people who are about to die and don't stand to gain from the extra care.

In a nationally televised event at the White House, Obama said families need better information so they don't unthinkingly approve "additional tests or additional drugs that the evidence shows is not necessarily going to improve care."

He added: "Maybe you're better off not having the surgery, but taking the painkiller."

It may take a few months to die if you are 90 and break a hip. My mom died at 95 and my dad broke his hip the next month. He is 93 and getting around great. Obama will have washington decide who is naughty or nice and gets a new prosthesis. He put a lot of car dealers out. If you will abort innocent babies, elder care is easy to create havoc in.

26 So Joseph died at the age of a hundred and ten. And after they embalmed him, he was placed in a coffin in Egypt.

Re: Government Health Care

I am not nor have I ever been a big supporter of the insurance companies. However, for Obama's administration to decide to shut them down in the health care system is wrong, IMO.

Having the right to choose your health insurance is in the works to be removed. How on earth can so many Americans be asleep at the wheel and let this happen?

Re: Government Health Care

Bud light have you read the 1018 page health plan?

Starting a Public Health Workforce corps. The IRS will be involved with employers, providors, vendors and docs and clinics. It will take thousands of people worjking in huge cube farms to make all the decisions.
QHBP will ruffle up companies and we will pay an extra 8% to "cost share" meaning pay for coverage on workers that do NOT work for us. They will put caps on therapy. They will set up people to momnitor clinics and income and cut prices if they make money. Shut down of a lot of hospitals is espected. Some folks will have to be covered by telephone.
These Democrats need to be tossed into inpatient psych. Less people for patient care, more patients and more paper pushing.
Medicare will get clobbered. Read the plan. The congressmen won't

Sections 121, 124, 203, 312 are problematic. Many more will get changed. So much more beaurocreacy.
