I seemed to have hit a nerve with this anonymous posting bit, yet I still stand by what I said about gossip & innuendo.
Thing is the rules that AFF are set up on are arbitrary & no longer followed!
Ron don't you think that everyone who spoke against the Detroit meeting was taking part in gossiping and innuendo since apparently no one on this thread has any details of what was actually discussed there?

Hit a nerve? When whine about something over and over and over and over and offer no substance to a thread? Hit a nerve? No....become an annoyance? Yes
From what I have seen people are responding to the words of Mooney...that is not gossip

I have spoken up about the Detroit meeting as hearing from one who was there & said that there was nothing to worry about said meeting.
Having no reason to doubt this person or his word, I believe him.
However, I did not hear that from PM meeting & methinks people are a little on the paranoid about things than they should be.

There is scripture about Gossip in the Bible though!
I agree the anonymous message boards can be a bad place for rumor and gossip. If people don't have to put their real names behind their accusations and statements, it seems to reason it would make it easier to put false stuff out. I get that part.
I do think that the Mods and Admins on this board do a good job of not allowing vicious attacks on people's character unless it's something that is publicly known. If it's already public info, then I'd say it's ok for a public forum.

Assistant General Superintendent, Paul D Mooney (IN), last night, at the Mississippi Camp meeting(most notably known for Greg Godwin and Borat) has seemingly railed- as perceived by some of his ministerial peers who have heard this message - against the recent invitation-only ministerial fellowship meeting that took place several weeks ago in Pontiac (Detroit) Michigan asking "who holds secret meetings?"
Mooney who recently headed a committee appointed by General Superintendent Kenneth Haney called the Committee For Inquiry of the Emerging took a page from the committee's recommendation to "affirm the Apostolic doctrine and Biblical holiness positions in campmeeting and conferences throughout the UPCI" in his sermon entitled "Intentional Confrontation".
This message is hailed by some already for its aggressive defense and/or offense for "the message".
What is unclear from the tone of this message is if Mooney is in step with another committee recommendation which states: "Establish a caring atmosphere within the UPCI in which individual Pastors are encouraged to maintain Apostolic doctrine."
Mooney alludes to the actions of some brethren as "cunning","conniving", "crafting" and that God is testing the Church in these last days with "dreamers" and "false prophets".
This on the heels of his recent Twitter post the day before the Detroit meeting in which he stated: "Good things, honest things, meaningful things, positive things, pure things, ethical things, are never done in secret ..."

Ron...who gives out his real name...heard from someone that was at a meeting and it is therefore NOT anonymous gossip, but just gossip. Hmmm...
Well, the truth is, rather than blathering on and on and on and on and on about WHO is gossiping and WHO is being more righteous by complaining about those that hide behind nicks names, why not go listen to the message and see if Mooney did indeed make such comments and if he did not make your case. If he did, make your excuse or whatever.
