Coon did exactly the right thing. He did not take away the volition of his boys by insisiting on such level of unnatural perfection out of two boys. He gave them room to grow without unnatural demands of maturity that is not there yet.

Notice the wisdom seen in Coon in his instructions to his boys. He inquited of them concerning their understanding of what they were doing. He inquired of them if they understood what the consequences might be if they were called into account of their perceived misdeed. He further inquired into other areas of their understanding before he proceeded to instruct them how to fully explore their whole expanse of BOYHOOD without unnatural pressures of phony perfection. Coon well understood that the boys were not matured into the level of perfection to be fully grown sons of God. GRACIOUS!

Coon is going to guide his boys on into perfection from stage of manly development to stage, from grace to grace. Right now the grace of those boys are learning how to gain the advantage over their opponents in a good natured way that will serve them well in their warfare with the flesh and the devil later on.

So boys, you little coons...fight the good fight...but keep the faith while you are fighting that good fight.

Would helping them make the best hornets to shoot in class in disregard for the teachers authority be training them in the way they should go? Just a yes or no answer will suffice.

Sometimes it's best not to try and enlighten folks on matters you aren't exactly an expert in.

So, it's okay to commit sin if we're not quite up to a particular level of maturity?

But the issue here is that these boys are doing this stuff IN SCHOOL where such behavior is against the "rules."

Unnatural perfection????? Are you saying Jesus was demaning "unnatural perfection" when HE SAID to be perfect even as our Father in Heaven is perfect? I'm not suggesting that any human will ever meet that standard here on Earth (though that is no excuse) but to call what JESUS commanded "unnatural" (contrary to nature, contrary to God's created design) borders on blasphemy.

The bolded portion (in class in disregard for the teachers authority) is the part that those who are trying to justify the behavior are missing.

So would that be a yes or a no?
