I think his theory regarding the stretching of time and space, based entirely upon physics, is rather interesting. As time and space stretched, six literal days may indeed be perceived differently by someone on this side of time. Six days could conceivably be conceived as being nearly 16 billion years. Does show how complex this subject is.

Yes, it funny how modern physics is showing how senseless many of our traditions are. We demand that people adhere to a strict and literal reading of texts that even the ancients didn't always read so literally. We burn people alive, we exclude from fellowship and we hold God captive (as if we could) in a tiny airless cell demanding that even He bow before our creeds.

Wait until you get into the area of quantum physics.....

I've done a lot of reading on that. Aquila and I sort of started on a topic about it. He started calling me names though and threw a bunch of gluons at me. Funny thing, they went right into his monitor and across the Internet. They were split up into several different packets and a bunch of header information appended and then some how got through my port sniffer and hit me square in the face; but not before condensing into baryonic matter and accumulating mass. I think the both of us would get a Nobel prize if we could figure out how they became massive.

From a group who states their purpose for existance is:

"The National Center for Science Education (NCSE) is a not-for-profit, membership organization providing information and resources for schools, parents and concerned citizens working to keep evolution in public school science education. We educate the press and public about the scientific, educational, and legal aspects of the creation and evolution controversy, and supply needed information and advice to defend good science education at local, state, and national levels. Our 4000 members are scientists, teachers, clergy, and citizens with diverse religious affiliations." [empasis mine]

They are not concerned with Science, they are concerned with keeping their pet theory front and center, and don't even think of challanging it. These are flat earthers who insist anyone who thinks different is a kook.

Re: Genesis Flood Local Or Global ?

I take a different tactic really. I think us as Christians fall for giving science far too much authority in that we attempt to transform our theological view (Creationism) into a “science” (Creation Science). It’s as though we think that if it’s not “scientific” it’s unacceptable. But I see it like this…true biblical creationism isn’t a science. It’s a mystical or supernatural theory regarding the origin of all things. It is unscientific and is therefore a mystical tradition, not a science. In my opinion a theology isn’t geology. Hence creationism isn’t a “theory” nor is it a “science” and therefore it doesn’t belong in “science” per se. I see creationism has a belief whereas science is an educated guess based on observable data. I think we sell creationism short by trying to sell it next to science. Teach science in the classroom, not religion. Let the church and the family define science through faith for those who believe.
