Did FDR's New Deal Prolong the Great Depression?

from what I've heard (and I don't know how accurate it is) what's being called a stimulus package is just a bunch of pork that the Democrats have been wanting to do so now they're collecting it all up and calling it the "stimulus" and counting on the panic of the public to want to see it pass.

Its that much worse than pork. it makes me sick.
