On the positive side..........
Let me tell you what my niece did..............
Cara is my 11 year old niece that you all have prayed for in the past because she has a rare form of lymphoma. Right now it is in remission. The doctors tell my sister that it typically does this and then comes back and when it does, it comes with a vengeance. It's also only ever found in people in their 60's and older.
So Make A Wish got involved and sent Cara and her parents to DisneyWorld in Florida this last week. They do the most amazing job when they send the kids there.
One of the things they do is to give the kids money so they can buy souveniers while they are there. It is the KIDS money to do with as they please. Cara had $350 to work with ($100 came from her dad's boss and $25 came from their neighbor lady. The rest from Make A Wish)
Cara chose to use a very large portion of that money to buy Christmas gifts for all of her cousins and aunts and uncles and grandma for tonight at our family gathering.
The gift is not the important thing. The fact that an 11 year old chose to do something for others is. I am so impressed with this kid! She is definately a gem

Thanks for sharing this Sis Margie. Things like this really get to me. I am very sorry for your nieces sickness, and am amazed at her selflessness. God bless you and Walt. And Cara.

Re: On the positive side..........
Thanks, everyone. I appreciate the continued prayers for Cara. She really is a sweetheart. She is an only child but you would never know it. My sister and her husband have done a great job with her.

Re: On the positive side..........
Here you go..... I thought if you were going to pray for her, maybe you'd like to be able to put a face to the name when you pray. This is Cara and her mom, Sally (my sister)
Again, I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continuing prayers!

LOL! Thanks!
I do have to say tho, when we all get together, we have a great time!
We laughed till we cried today when we were opening gifts. My niece is dating this guy who has a baby boy. He was sitting in the walker in front of us and fell asleep. He slept in the walker for about 1/2 hour. Then he started to wake up. But Kristen reached up with her foot and pushed the button to turn the music on on the walker and we watched him drop right back off instantly. He slept another 5 minutes and then started to wake up again. Same thing happened and off he went again. This went on and on for about 15 times!! It was like he could not stay awake as long as that music was playing.
I was sitting on the couch with my niece and my nephew. All of us were just laughing hysterically at this poor baby. Wish we would have had a video camera! We could have won $10,000 on America's Funniest Home Videos with this one!

Re: On the positive side..........
Great Margie, how wonderful that Cara has such a giving heart. I am always struck by kids that are going through life threatening diseases seem to be so unselfish. Will continue to pray for Cara. Great picture.
