I think one should go to church everytime the door is open , of course I understand sometimes when folks work on sunday they can't make it I have been there ,and sometimes I can't make it Sunday Morning but I go Sunday Night ,and make our men's prayer meeting on tuesday , but if one can go to church and doesn't they are missing out.
Everybody needs a home-church and needs to be faithful in their attendance.
I guess driving 89 miles one way not wroth it to me, just being honest. We meet with others in our area.
Servant leadership is an important concept but so is God-appointed leadership.... Moses, Joshua, David, the prophets, the apostles.... God always places some above the rest in regards to authority, responsibility and accountability.... i would be interested if you could show me in the scriptures where it is otherwise....
Korah didn't think Moses should rule over Israel either (Numbers 16).... the rebellious spirit of Korah will destroy anyone....
God's speed in your journeys....
Moses, Joshua, Davd....all OT when Government was a Theocracy, its a far cry from the world around us today. All the NT says is to obey them that have rule over you.
However, I think we would all agree that we obey them ONLY within the bounds of Biblical truth. So, really, if I don't think the thing I am being ordered to do is biblical, why is that rebellion? And if I obey when I DO believe that what I am being told is biblical, then am I really "Obeying" or am I just doing what I think is right anyway?
I think that I am gonna split this into a separate thread....

Also Moses, David, Johsua were types of Christ. Bible says Christ is head of the church.
The root of the problem is that the "pastor" concept is so ingrained in the modern church model that people don't even question the fact that this may be fundementally flawed system as it's abiblical and it can be interpreted as one man master over another. Therefore, you are seen as being outside God's order if you don't see a man as your master but as someone who's faith you follow when you see what the fruit is in their life.
There are governments in the church but what that means biblically seems to be far removed to what we see today.
Also, people read scripture with certain ingrained perspectives and don't give any leeway to other interpretations so their way is right and anyone who thinks differently is wrong.
And lastly, anyone who thinks a little differently or asks too many questions is pounced on as being disrespectful and a fool by some. By others these same people as seen as being like the Bereans and with fear and trembling working out their own salvation.

12 So whenever you speak, or whatever you do, remember that you will be judged by the law of love, the law that set you free. 13 For there will be no mercy for you if you have not been merciful to others. But if you have been merciful, then God's mercy toward you will win out over his judgment against you.

I will not speak anymore of this matter.... your mind is made up and you are unwilling to consider other voices of reason....

I had tried to point out earlier that it is pretty much impossible to read and interpret the Bible without Bias. We just can't do it. We are a product of our environment, our culture, our traditions and our training.
The rest of what you have said, is pretty much the way I understand it, and you are right, it is not well accepted!

Actually I could say the same of you. I am seeking answers, challenging, questioning. You appear to be the one who is unwilling to listen to other opinions and is convinced that he is right.
