Did your father ever get over your brother's death? How very sad
Don't cry margie. That was 40 yrs ago. WOW it just dawned on me how long ago that was.
Well lets just say he lived but I think my brothers death really affected him till the day he died a year and a half ago. My brother was 23 when he died and my dad would have been 42. I don't think he was ever the same and I do not think he ever realized it was my brothers death that started his slow down hill slide. My mother is still alive but has alzheimer's. I know that up to a few years ago if you talked much about my brother she would start to cry thinking about him. Never messed with her head though like it did with my dad.

Actually, Jax, I was crying more for you than for your dad. I feel bad for your parents. But I really feel bad for you. You didn't have any choice in this situation at all. I'm glad to know that you seem to have come out of it pretty ok, just the same. God is good.

me??? that was sweet of you. I came out just fine. It affected our lives for a very long time but God kept his hand on us and for the most part we all turned out pretty good.
Love seeing all the trees- I don't put a tree- too lazy! I usually decorate our mantle and tables with all things Christmas! We are going to be out of town much of Dec. so I am going to scale back the decorations. Maybe. When I start to drag out the boxes I may just get carried away. I do a lovely nativity scene- I will post it when I finish it, next week.
Ok, well, maybe I CAN wait. Maybe I'm really not in that big of a hurry. It's probably just all the Christmas movies I've been watching today on Hallmark. The feeling will pass soon, I'm sure..............
My daughter recorded them all for me to watch later...I didn't have time to do any movie watching today. I love Christmas movies!

There they can find plenty of fault.
Here is mine. I'm HACKED because my husband didn't want to put up a big tree this year so I compromised and only put up the top two sections of our 9 ft tree. Even though my kids are grown I could tell they were MEGA disappointed and told me that they were going to have a talk with their dad! LOL

I don't think it looks too small. It's pretty!!!! Love the mantel too!
I might just leave the close up. It makes the tree look much larger than it really is!
NO FAIR!
I shouldn't harp, last year I didn't put a pic of my tree on here. This year I'm rethinking my tree decor. I might try something I read in a magazine. Christmas themed toys, stuffed snowmen etc, rather than bulbs that my one year old can break.
There are plenty of years ahead to go back to the fancy tree. I love fancy trees though. So more pics everyone!!!
