If EB meant Evang. Benincasa, he probably said that as a sweet thing to say to me. If that is you in the picture there with your family I am old enough to be your Gramma.
You seem like a nice man EvangBenicassa. I have reading your posts for a few days now before getting enough courage and wisdom to log onto this discussion site.
You seem to be one of the smartest posters here and I feel in my soul you and I are of kindred spirits. True holiness folks.

I could Amen a good sermon like that. To much flesh ashowin these days and worldly patterned nylons can't not be after God's true heart.

True study does not mean reading a Catholic professor's article and walk away a believer. I guess he can also show you infant baptism.

Brother Beninca, the point isn't that Jesus was born on December 25th. lol We don't know with certainty when Christ was born. The point is that the date was arrived at through a combination of ancient Christian and Jewish traditions....not paganism.

Come on, don't be that way Neck, you had already admitted in this thread that there was no mandate to celebrate the xmas. So, why feel so blue?

You can celebrate Jesus everyday!

LOl, you must of missed my posts where I showed that the writer of the article never proved that the Dec 25th date was conclusively not pagan.
Antipas, the writer gives us his speculation and builds his case later on in the article. He is very brief about the Roman date and Roman religion. Still he never proves that there wasn't any pagans who held Dec 25th as their date.
Go back and re-read it.

Yet, they call my group legalists, oh the irony.

Re: We're Not Putting X-Mas Trees Up!

There is no way Christ could have been born Dec 25 or thereabout. The shepherds were outside watching their flocks at night. They cannot do that in the middle east at that time of year.

Wow, that must be the Churchian love coming through. You didn't say anything about his MeMaw, so why would he get the apology?

Whatever.
