Sam

I can also say that when I was a 3 stepper I was always troubled about the notion of people receiving the Holy Spirit, and yet they were still doomed to hell. It did not seem to make sense that God would give them his Spirit then reject them in the end.

Bro. Hudspeth of Shreveport and I were talking of this once (it has been over 10yrs) and he said that some explained this phenomena as being babies that were waiting to be born and that those who did not complete the 3 steps were eventually breech birthed. However this did not seem to fit also because in the water/spirit doctrine -- the sound which is heard is compared to as the baby's crying/tongues.

No real problem exists over the use of "The Name" in everthing else done in the Church. Why then should there exist great controversy over the use of the "The Name of the Godhead" in water baptism?

That doesn't make sense to me at all. Breech babies can be just fine and healthy.

And I don't know what I am. I believe Acts 2:38 but don't believe you're going to hell without it.

I am sorry. He didn't say breech. He was talking about a natural abortion taking place (that is the correct analogy).

Re: What are you? One stepper or Three stepper

I voted as a one-stepper, but to be honest, I am more likely a half-stepper or a three-quarters-stepper or some crazy thing. I don't know if I am really committed to the whole one step....

Or maybe I just don't think of it as such...

I believe in Jesus, and I know that my life is better with Him in it. And I think that everyone elses' would be better with Him in theirs as well.

But as for the whole sin / salvation, heaven / hell thing....I haven't reached that place in my reconstruction yet. I'm still working on the Jesus part.

From my understanding that's essentially the one stepper position. A three stepper would relagate anyone who hasn't obeyed all three steps to certain damnation.

Re: What are you? One stepper or Three stepper

I believe that God can save the repentant soul, however, that soul should press forward into obedience. I believe that God will judge a man for what he understands and fails to obey out of the Scriptures. If a man repents of sin and dies on the way to church to be water baptized, he died acting in obedience though he wasn't yet water baptized (in Jesus name). He's saved. However, if he repented of his sins and refused to be baptized...he's in rebellion and could loose his soul.

If a man repents on his death bed I hold out that a just and merciful God will judge justly...we may very well see him in Heaven.

************************************************** **

99% of what this forum labels we One Steppers as missing the mark.

We not argue over your steps.

It is at what step the belief that Christ died for our sins brings initial salvation.

One step or three steps we are none saved until our days be complete and we are in Christ.

The one steppers do follow many of the three steppers in the process.

It is just what step does the salvation process start.

Many here should really be 4 steppers.

Since "standards" are such a protective part of your staying in the race..

Without the standards remember you would be outside the protection of Christ.

Thus "standards" would be step 4.

Not a bash just a comment since we "PAJC" one Step crowd get bull dozed without full understanding of our position.
