oh, I could care less what color the president is... he could eat babies for all I care, as long as he is not socialist...
"I et a baby"...all I can hear is Fat uh......you know, from Austin Powers...
Beyond that, I realized something today, every candidate that I have voted for in a presidential election has won. So rather than bicker back and forth and coming up with various predictions and prophecies, you all just need to ask me who I voted for

I said nothing about "no one would say" that. I say that no one has said that here, and if they did, they'd be roundly criticized both by the left and the right... (and among the loudest such voices would be mine).
So for you to make such a "broad brush" statement toward anti-Obama conservatives only serves to unfairly taint them with the stigma of racism based not on facts, but on your perception.
The fact that you've talked to [whoever] "personally" is irrelevant here. I'm talking about the views expressed by conservatives on this forum...based on what's been expressed on this forum... not what anyone has said to you personally.
But yes, do you have names of anyone who has made such comments on this forum? If so, lets hear them.
Lets not even kid ourselves here: In your post, in which you bashed "right wingers" on this forum, the implication being that conservatives here approve of the sentiment of ""we can't have a nigger in the White House." That was an unfair comment to make which only serves to paint AFF conservatives as being approving of racist attitudes toward Obama. It's a shame you are unwilling to acknowledge that simple fact.
Anyway, if you take that chip off your shoulder (the one you frequently seem to walk around here with) , it'll serve you better, and the rest of us too.
France, I KNOW you're not as obtuse as you come across in this post.
Of course ... you're a LITTLE obtuse since; in a desperate, laughable attempt to save a little face, you dodge the point I made and tried to bluff and bluster that I said people ON THIS FORUM made the EXACT statement: "We don't need a nigger for president."
Now France, let me spell it out in words as close to one syllable as I can make them: I never said people ON THIS FORUM made the above statement. I said I've TALKED to people that made that very statement.
Tell me France ... do you "talk" to people over a forum?
My ONLY point was: there are ignorant voters on both sides.
France, anyone with half-a-lick of sense that reads these posting exchanges knows that and are probably shaking their heads in amusement at you trying to confuse the issue to save face when you know you got spanked.
But here: let me give you something to wail and gnash your teeth about.
I DID say there was a lot of hatemongering and fearmongering on this "Election Section" board.
Like Tstew, I feel like taking a shower after reading a lot of this stuff.
AND: funny how the ORIGINAL point got totally ignored: CC1 blustered that the pristine republicans never committed a documented case of voter fraud. I linked an article and of corurse the right wingers here ran from it like scared rabbits.
France, I don't really care whether or not you think I have a chip on my shoulder. I admit when I come across a combination of ignorance and arrogance like you manifest, I take no prisoners.
I regret that such polarization exists in the United States today and some of the Republican right cannot accept that those who disagree with them don't love America too. So ... when people propagate that attitude and mindset, I LOVE to make 'em squirm.
I've posted on these "apostolic" forums about four years now. Many have liked a lot I've posted; some don't like much.
Makes me no difference.
Now don't try some cheap trick like trying to dodge the real subject by skewing the facts about what I said and building a straw man you can knock down by accusing me of saying someone ON THIS FORM said: "We don't want a n** president."
But yes, in this country, people have. I've had people tell me that to my face. There are plenty of ignoramuses in YOUR camp - not just Obama's.
So France?

No, you prove to me that the GOP DIDN"T steal the 2000 and the 2004 elections. You see that gets us right back to the election process in this country being unconstitutional. It's like saying 2+2=4 and having somebody say prove it. Sorry, can't help you.
Good gracious I can't believe folks still believe Bush stole the 2000 election when the RECOUNT(S) PROVED he WON. Hello, the democrats tried to steal it away from Bush along with the liberal media!
I am sooooooooo sick and tired of hearing the election was stolen when it was NOT.

We tried to vote early and just gave up and the voters were predominately black where we went, but overall the early voters in our city were about 50/50 along race lines. I do think if the young voters get out to vote that will be in Obama's favor. We were at a party tonight and several parents said their first time voter children were solid Obama supporters.

You're not NEAR ready to take me on.
Well, I simply called it as I saw it, and said myself that if you felt you were misunderstood, you could feel free to clarify. If I misunderstood what you were saying, I have no problem apologizing. I know that miscommunication and misunderstanding will happen on internet forums sometimes. However, I have no need to "save face", as you put it. If I make a mistake, I can apologize, as I do now. If I misunderstood your meaning, well Timland, pardon me for my "obtuse" response.
My walk with God is too important to me to be having silly grudges with people on the internet.
.....................
However, I will also say that I find your post to be rather disturbing on a whole different level, [not that you might necessarily care, but]...
The level of pride in yourself and arrogance you display in that post is simply breathtaking. You're obviously quite impressed with yourself.
If I didn't know better I'd seriously wonder if I was looking at the words of a Christian sometimes, just judging from the content and tone of some of your posts, including the one above. You seem to almost take pride in your arrogance.
Do you look in the spiritual mirror and think that the tone of your posts represents Christianity well? If you do, I honestly feel sorry for you, Tim.
(Like I said, take that chip off your shoulder. And not for my sake, but for your own.)
But anyway...carry on, sir.

Me too.
These people need to just get over it.

In reading this thread, I am left with nothing more than a fresh confirmation that there are ignorant people on either side of the aisle. You can choose to ignore the ignorant ones on your side since they are "right" if you choose, but that does not hide them from the objective or opposing viewer.
One could choose to paint every Obama supporter as ignorant and ghetto, and someone else could choose to paint every McCain supporter as ignorant and racist. Both would be wrong and borderline ignorant themselves in my honest opinion.

Prove that something didn't happen? That is like asking someone if they have stopped beating their wife.
Seriously you need to actually read what you post. It is absurd to make up some wild accusation and then claim that it is true unless someone proves otherwise.
When dealing with rational people if you have a claim that something wrong was done you bring forth proof. I know that must be a radical concept to you.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
