You need to read a real history of the political environment of Germany before the rise of Nazism. The abuses and autocratic rule of socialism and communism came about through idealism and hope for change and righting of wrongs. This man is commited to the same ideals and when given power under the guise that we will do it better will bring about the same results.

I personally think God did that when he gave in to them and gave them a king.
He gave them king Saul.
Also in the wilderness when they longed for meat. Psalm 106:15 says He gave them their request but sent leanness into their soul. In Numbers chapter 11 He answered their request for meat by giving them quail until they got sick of it.

I think Jesus would rebuke both candidates and both parties, calling all to repentance.

Neither McCain or Obama are anywhere near as bad as Hitler. My wife comes from a Jewish family and....they're voting for Obama. To compare Hitler to average politicians is to minimize the real evil he inflicted on the masses. Neither McCain or Obama would ever do such a thing.

They also created monastic orders. The Essenes influenced them.

Did Jesus glean cornfields with the disciples? You and I both know that that was an agrarian social welfare provision in the Law of Moses. We also know how the disciples didn't amass wealth and property and in fact the early church, led by the Holy Ghost, sold everything they owned to provide for each man according to his need. Honestly, I think Christ's economic perspective wouldn't jive too well with some folks. Jesus would tell us...we are our brother's keeper.

You have no real understanding of history. It will happen again, may not be Obama or McCain but some man in the near future will get up and promise change, hope, work wonders and will inflict upon humanity pain and suffering the likes of which the world has never seen.
Your wifes family are deceived, this guy will abandon Israel and will settle the Middle East Issue at the expense of Israel's security. Every minority group in the world will come and Obama will right their wrongs.

Remember the parable of the workers in the field? They each recieved what they negociated with the owner for. Some worked for the entire day and some for an hour and each got paid the same.
When the early christians each gave there posessions to the greater cause it was voluntary and not enforced. It was also not for the 'norm' but for a specific need.

It didnt work in the first church, man's base insticts still took over. Even in that scenario they gave willingly, spirit led not mandated or confiscated by a government agency.

You might say you consider both extremes evil, but that comes across like just lip service. You seem to bash the "right wing" frequently around here, but never the left wing. In fact, you've never even used the term "left wing" once in any of your posts on AFF up to this point.
So you may say you favor centrism, but from your own words here on AFF, your political stance could hardly be considered as being truly "centrist".
