I Reneged! Please Forgive Me.
It was accidental, I promise.
However since it's done, I might as well continue. Here's my thoughts the last few days.
I have issues with our current President. However, I think his actions concerning the global financial market meltdown are wise.
This is a FAR CRY from how I looked at it before.
I wasn't wrong then and I'm not wrong now to say,
"Thank you Mr. President, for your decisiveness in a time of crisis."
His actions as of late will prove to be the among the brightest spots of his Administration-- ranking high with his commitment to AIDS research and affordable AIDS treatments for sub-sahara Africa and his "No Child Left Behind Act. I haven't heard anyone else say this yet-- these are my own original musings.
I have been rethinking my support for Sen. Obama.
This is NOT because Sen. McCain is the better candidate in my book, because I'm not sure that he is, honestly.
I am equally unsure as to whether electing Sen. Obama is really in the best interest of our country. I am inclined to say, "No" for moral reasons.
As of right now, I'm inclined to just not vote.

1399, I have a great deal of respect for you for this very reason.
NOT that you are rethinking your position on Obama, but because you have always been open and honest, and you are not afraid to rethink your positions on things. Your transparency is refreshing.
Kudos to you, my friend!

Re: I Reneged! Please Forgive Me.
Wish more people would think with their morals!
My former husband told me I reneged while playing Rook once and I thought he was calling me names!

Well as long as I don't cause risk to life or limb, I don't mind "rethinking".
Thanks for the kudos.

SPADES is another game where you can renege. It's a terrible feeling to know you have reneged in SPADES. Even worse when someone calls you on it!

Re: I Reneged! Please Forgive Me.
1399- I think a lot of us are in the same place you are. My husband and I have discussed not voting. I cannot support Obama , because of his record, his background, and his inexperience, but I am not that thrilled about voting for McCain either.

Gov. Palin's pick is what has made it almost impossible for me to vote for Sen. McCain-- he already had some other stuff stacked against him in my mind.
Both of these candidates will be making the illegal immigrants present in this country legal citizens.
Both candidates support some form government protected gay unions.
Both candidates are going to have to increase spending to do what they say they will accomplish.
Both candidates are deliberately not discussing the realities of our current financial debt as a country and what that will mean for the future.
