I bet the guy wishes they'd never mentioned his name last night.
Boy, talk about splitting hairs.

The guy has worked for a plumber for 6 years, but just because he doesn't have a license he's not a plumber? Wow.

Guess all you independent preachers who don't have a license are just "wannabe preachers", lol!

Come on, Mike, if you're going to roast McCain, do it over something substantial. This is just petty.

First of all, I never roasted McCain in this thread. I've saved that for the places he actually deserves it. I never proposed it had gargantuan effects either way.

I just found it amusing that a guy who took up so much of the debate on Wednesday night, isn't a licensed plumber, isn't planning on buying that much discussed business anytime soon, doesn't make $250K personally and the business doesn't even clear $250K a year.

I haven't read the whole thread so maybe someone has already mentioned this but here goes. If the guy can't pay the $ 1200.00 in taxes that he owes, how can he buy a business for a quarter of a million dollars?

He actually doesn't need a license because he doesn't own the business. He works under a licensed plumber and thus does not need a lic himself

Seriously? You think paying more taxes is a way to make a positive contribution to our society? What about having the choice about where to make charitable donations vs funding government programs that are diametrically opposed to my core beliefs. What about using extra money to start a small business & create jobs. Funny, my goals have never been to make more money so I could pay more taxes. I don't look at that as a positive contribution to society.

Do you believe it's right to send soldiers to war without up-armor on their HUMV's? Do you believe that fighting a $2 billion per week war costs money?

Let's leave out the whole war issue.

When I start my own business and I am netting 300k annually, when my taxes increase, I know that my tax dollars will be going towards making sure my employees have reliable government subsidized public transportation.

When my employees get sick, my tax dollars will go to help fund the public community health center and the public hospital.

My children may be in a private, Christian school, buy my employees children will probably go to a public school. My tax dollars will go to help pay for their textbooks and the salaries of their teachers.

TAX DOLLARS WELL SPENT DO A LOT OF GOOD
!
I will be glad to do my part.

A question I once heard-- not my own quote:

"Why is it such an honor for a poor boy to go off to war and die for his country, but such a burden for rich men to pay taxes?"

It's a burden for everyone to pay taxes. Get off this poor people stuff, I see them in my town stopping by to pick up their WICK paperwork in their Jags, Lincolns and Cadillacs. Many are poor because of poor spending habits. Problem with some poor people the more you give them the more they want. Seems very strange to me that so many people are out of work yet I see sighns all over the place HELP WANTED In my business I am constantly looking for someone that wants to work.
