When you're already paying 20% of your income or more in state & federal taxes, another 3% isn't anything to wink at.

Fact is, there are numerous people like him: "Joe the Plumber" , Joe Electrician, and Joe Landscaper etc who are going to be hurt by having to pay higher taxes.
To some people, $250,000 a year might sound like a lot of money. But if "Joe" has 3 kids (who he's trying to save for college for), a wife, a mortgage, 2 car notes, and a small business he's trying to keep afloat in this economy, raising his taxes is a huge burden.
Not that it makes any difference at all, but just fyi, Joe only has one kid

By the way, you have to know that Joe is all over the news here in Toledo. You should check out our local TV stations. Personally, I've only watched it on 13abc and was disgusted by the way they went after the man.

Joe lives less than 15 miles away from me.

MissBratt, ask the Dennis's about Holland. That's where Antioch Apostolic Church is located

Joe the Plumber is a straw man-- the real issue is that the WEALTHY who are able to afford more taxes should pay more taxes.

That's not a grand departure from our American government, is not socialism as I know it, but is fair and realistic.

Why should I work 25 years to own a successful business and then share my wealth, as Obama puts it, oh I forgot, it's my patriotic obligation. Again as Obama puts it. I don't owe the middle class anything. Let them work for it as I have. Up until Obama's time I have been middle class, he just promoted me because my business made enough money.

It's not easy to spend other people's money. If I run for Congress, I'll let AFF know about it.

I see nothing wrong with increasing the taxes on the wealthy. When I am wealthy, I'll look forward to being that much more of a positive contribution to our society.

I bet the guy wishes they'd never mentioned his name last night.
He's just an unlicensed plumber, still doing plumbing work.

The real point is that Obama has Marxist tendencies with his redistribution of wealth ideas. Take from the productive and give to those who aren't? Sounds communist to me.

If Joe can fix my leaky plumbing, he's a plumber.
