Thank God Sarah did so well tonight!!! She was authentic and showed that she can certainly connect to the common folks and hold her on with the Old Timer of DC.

I think they both held their own,I am for Mccain but I like Joe Biden somethings I disagree with him on,but he is knowledgeable and he was kinder than I thought he would be.
I like Obama as a person,I don't agree with him.I have Obama supporters as my friends and they are still my friends.

I don't believe it was a draw. Palin was in the house!!!!!!!
Given the last few blundering interviews, if I was a Sarah Palin fan, I'd be dancing too. She in no way, LOST the election for McCain tonight and that was a real possibility going in.
She was coherent and made sense on most questions, so I'd agree that's a victory at this point.

1) The tone of the debate was civil and I liked that. Gwen Ifill was the fair, objective moderator that I thought she'd be.
2) There were no major gaffe's by either one.
3) Sarah Palin did much better in this setting as most thought of us thought she would.
4) I thought she did a good job of tying Biden to his Iraq vote.
5) She still struggled to answer questions and stay on topic. She wasn't interested in talking about nuclear interventionism and steered completely clear of the change in bankruptcy laws.
6) Biden did a good job of tying McCain/Palin to GWB on the issues. He highlighted the fact that he "didn't hear a plan" on an exit strategy from Iraq.
7) All in all, I think this was a draw. I can't see that either one actually out and out won the debate. That's good news for Sarah Palin and the base I think given the expectations going in. I'm not sure this will make any difference in the long run and effect the polls at all. In that sense, given his current position, that's bad news for McCain.

I think that this is pretty much what they wanted to accomplish, they as in McCain/Palin- I think they were just wanting her to be herself and hold her own.
