Hey, Renda.

We just go in and are safe. We have had no major damage. Just some debris. Electricity wasn't out for a long period of time. We are buffered by a tremendous amount of trees, so unless we have major wind, it can't get in.

Heading out again. Thanks for all your prayers. We pray for all those, Esther, etc. who have houses in Houston and Beaumont.

My BIL left Houston early this morning as they are out of electricity.

Talk at you all later!

BTW, has anyone heard from tstew?

Re: Hike away from Ike?

Just checked on Esther and she is in Shreveport with family but the storm is heading there also at 70mph. Jim Griffin and his family are still in Houston without Electricity but they are safe. Dallas is beginning to get wet but it is not life-threatening here. Praying for all our friends in those areas.

Blessings, Rhoni

Re: Hike away from Ike?

We are now under a major wind advisory and a flash flood watch until 1 am here. Storm pulse is showing it is 127 miles from DFW now... they are expecting it to hit Garland/Mesquite later this evening... the winds are at 60mph according to that and 70 according to TWC... all I know is.. the trees in this neighborhood are old and will not withstand this high of gusts.. I am really not worried about the power issue because I know we will be fine I am just worried about getting one of these huge trees down around here...

Fun Fun day... its so windy gloomy dark and just eerie out... really weird feeling out there indeed

"T",

I am in Rowlett on the third floor if you want to take safety a little further out. Just bring sleeping bags and some food and you can camp out at my place until the storm passes over

Blessings, Rhoni

Hey! Austin's a nice safe place to be too. lol Granted that's a little more of a hike...but...

I have power. If y'all lose it you're more than welcome to come crash!

nahkoe,

One day I am going to get over to Austin...I heard it is a beautiful place. Right now I am safe and snug as a bug in a rug right here. If it gets real bad - I'll go to my sister's home in Rockwall and camp out in her guest room

Thanks for the invite though

Re: Hike away from Ike?

Just got a call from the neighbors down the street. Our house in China made it fine, except for a small portion of the roof over the garage. The shed over the pump is gone and a large limb is over my small storage building.

We are thankful no windows were broken and all is basically well. Lots of limbs down, but we expected that.

Thanks for all the prayers.

No specific eyes on my house in Houston, but the neighbor I am told made it fine.

Sounds like a plan.

Austin truly is beautiful. Let me know when you get down this way, I'll try to be a little less frazzled than the last time we met.
