That's because of the way you frame this issue. You and I both know that abortions were going on LONG before it was made legal in Roe v. Wade. The back alley clinics in Chicago, New York, LA and every other major city were operating and the police were NOT going in and jailing pregnant women for aborting babies. The day that the Supreme Court makes it illegal again, there will still be abortions performed.
I'm anti-abortion in any instance except for the life of the mother being in danger. The only thing that will truly stop abortion, however, is when America's preachers stand in the pulpit and declare truth and the Holy Spirit convicts individuals of their sin. You can't simply legislate morality. It's time America's christians stopped blaming the politicians and all of us took a look in the mirror.
Given that, it's also immoral for the elderly in this country to chose between medicine and food. It's immoral for 100K innocent civilians in Iraq to die due to a needless war. People that did nothing wrong other than live their life in the country they were born. It's immoral, for veterans to come home to poor living conditions in VA hospitals and not receive the medical treatment they need. It's immoral for the government to tap my phone and look into my financial records with no warrant from a judge, thus denying me due process protected by that silly old Constitution of ours.
There are other issues of life and death than abortion.
I certainly understand there are other issues besides abortion. These babies are 100% innocent. IMO. Anyone who votes for a candidate that supports abortion has their conscience seared. The elderly, Iraqi citizens, veterans and you and I have the ability to make choices. We all have the ability to fight and stand for what we need and or want out of life. I know life is not fair. But.. these babies have no choice. And they have rights. These people that are struggling with whatever, are adults, and have chosen often times the road they ended up on. If you vote for Obama this election. Your a partaker/supporter of abortion. Rationalize it away all you want. Hussein Obama is a dirt bag.

I'm late answering this, but I bet you already know by now.
I actually don't. It doesn't look like anyone answered the question I put out there...
And I didn't want to assume.
Maybe I'm slow putting 2+2 together...but I'll ask again anyway: is Aquila the old Christopher Hall from not too long ago?
(I'm almost hoping they're not the same person. While Chris Hall could be difficult and almost hard-headed at times, this Aquila is more than that... Too often, especially with his gratuitous name-calling, I've found him to be unnecessarily harsh, offensive, and just plain rude.)

It can go away in Jesus Name! These unborn babies are worth fighting for!!
I know I can sound wacky saying that I believe abortion can be done away with. But I truly believe, with enough pro-life Presidents in a row, appointing pro-life Judges in the Supreme court, it is possible!! If Hussein O. gets in.. it will probably stop the process by 20 yrs. Christians do no vote for pro-choice people.
Its unbelievable to me its even a consideration.
McCain could really do it. He could win and be even worse than President Bush. America, you cannot solve the problem by letting the problem continue. I am not moved or inspired by McCain's arrogant grimace or his constant shifting to whatever sounds good to voters instead of holding to his true beliefs. McCain was for some forms of abortion, he cannot suddenly be against it. I was not impressed by McCain's response to Georgia that sounded like childish bluster. I am not impressed that McCain can call his opponents names, in fact that is a complete turn off. Two year olds call each other names. I thought McCain was a much bigger danger to Obama when he was running a respectable campaign. Now he's a much bigger danger to America in general spreading propaganda and trying to disenfranchise and mock the America that is angry and wants real change. He's talking down his nose to you younger voters and poor Americans and I don't think you should put up with it. Like Bush he's a reckless foolish and, yes, old man set in his ways who thinks he's always right and a person who thinks that he's always right is almost always wrong.

It's even more unbelievable Christians won't look beyond the abortion agenda! Abortion not going away, the rich will always have the means, the poor, the back ally!

Amen!
Here we go again. Men and women discussing abortion. After many years of discussing the same problem, again, especially the conservative right, discuss the answer has been in our reach always.
Lets discuss male responsibility. Use those resources in and out of churches to teach males birth control and responsibility. Women in society will always see sex as love while their most counterparts will always see it as recreation. And thus the problem of unwanted pregnancy will continue. If Roe v Wade is overturned we will go back to the same. Conservative women will be able to get safer abortions(which have always been available to them under another title)
so they can put out the face of apposing abortion and still feel safe. If you write back that doesn't happen, you are kidding the public.

I'm not a "younger voter" nor a "poor American." Not that being young or poor makes one an unqualified voter. And, I'm not a McCain fan, but I don't like Obama at ALL, nor his wife, and I can't stand his running mate.
As far as I'm concerned John McCain made a brilliant choice. She represents youth, femininity, intelligence, family, and she is obviously charismatic--all things that JM is not. Therefore they will make a good team, and balance one another out.
Btw, the Democrats are also sorely underestimating the power of sweet and pretty. Princess Di anyone? I guarantee you there are some Democrats who are going to tell their D friends they are voting Obama, but they are going to go into that voting booth and secretly cast a ballot for the Pretty Woman.

LOL. You think abortion is all that matters? I also care about being an independent country, gun rights, small government, etc., just like many other Americans. However, the immorality of abortion usually is a big concern, as it should be. I'm baffled at how anyone can look past abortion. As a Christian, my first concern must be my conscience, and my pocketbook HAS to come second.
I find it hilarious (Guiliani referenced this last night) that Democrats want to choose where your children go to school instead of allowing parents to make that decision, but those same parents are granted the right to "choose" whether their child lives or dies prior to birth.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to the Democrats' "gloves coming off", and how Palin will respond.
I find it interesting how some closet Christian Democrats are using the existence of abortion rights to vote for Democrats who support abortion rights on the premise that Republicans aren't doing enough to prevent abortion. The one major thing that has been done since the Clinton term is the ban placed on partial-birth abortions--and thank God for small favors. It's really just a reverse-psychology excuse to vote who you were already going to vote for and try to invalidate the Abortion issue.

1. Unwanted pregnancies are NOT a problem the government should solve. Talk about a personal matter. LOL!!!!
2. What on earth are you referring to in the comment: "Conservative women will be able to get safer abortions(which have always been available under another title)?"
