It kinda was..... but there is a kernal of truth in there too.
People who believe in the uncut hair doctrine belive in some things that are heaven and hell issues, that others who reject that doctrine dont.
those that reject the passage in question is about hair at all, typically go with the "radical grace" theology anyway. beyond the big sins Micahael they really dont find much that will ........ a person.
so i was being crass and over the top, but the part about it not being a fair comparison is accurate.
Wow, I like you Ferd, and usually agree with your posts. But this is such a broad brush, I can hardly believe you used it.
What you're saying is that if someone doesn't believe that trimming hair will send you to hell, then there's not a lot else that they believe will send one to hell.
Hmm.......how about the SINS the Bible mentions? I don't know of any "bobbed hair woman" on this forum who doesn't believe in abstaining from sin.
But, that's all I'm saying about that for now.

That is really the bottom line. If a weak minded person were to come on here, yes, I can see them being influenced. But, in that case, they are going to be easily influenced anywhere. And those types don't seem to stay around here very long.
If you are grounded in what you believe, and are getting good Biblical teaching at the church you attend, you should be able to discuss, debate and even question without it compromising what you believe.
some would suggest the weak come here and are validated.

Some years ago when the AMF was formed one UPC pastor told me, "They don't think they've had church unless they've beat somebody up." I have no comment at the present time on the accuracy of that statement, but the Cons seem to be more judgmental in their posts than the libs (maybe that's because I would be considered a lib by some here).
