I am a firm believer in the Old Paths
Articles on such subjects as "The New Birth," will be accepted, whether they teach that the new birth takes place before baptism in water and Spirit, or that the new birth consists of baptism of water and Spirit. - THE PENTECOSTAL HERALD Dec. 1945
"It is doubtful if any Trinitarian Pentecostals have ever professed to believe in three gods, and Oneness Pentecostals should not claim that they do." - Daniel Segraves
Nope. Something happened when we entered the new millennium in 2000.
It is a different world.
Just my observation.
While I agree with the idea that the world has taken quite a turn for the worse in many aspects, I experienced the same thing in the last millenia.
The only person who bothered to stop was someone I knew who happened to be passing by after we spend a very long time on the side of the road in an area where walking to anywhere would have been at least a couple of miles and we did not have a working cellphone with us.
This was a fantastic post girlfriend, you are an up and comer on the forum for sure!!!
I always try to help if it seems like I can without placing my life in jeopardy. But there have been times when I left a situation feeling very conflicted and sad because I felt like I should have done something but just couldn't convince myself it was safe. I hate it that that is the world we live in.
I have thought long and hard about this all day... Why is it that the world says that tithing is crazy, and yet we embrace it with open arms and trust God. He gave the parable of the talents and we understand it, and try to replicate the example. But the parable of the Good Samaritan is overlooked...
We think of it as helping someone in the church, or somone who has come to church, or maybe even an unsaved family member. Christ was VERY explicit that this was not only a stranger, but a beaten and bloody one...
Maybe I am looking too deeply at this, but God has really been moving on me.
When I went to the commuter station to get my husband tonight (because I had to take his truck from there) two men were standing by a car with the hood up, even though I NEVER would have done it before, I drove over and asked if they needed any help, a phone or a ride. They said someone was on there way, but thanks...
I hope that this experience has changed how I look at the world!

Hilarious.....but the devil sent a big sweaty demon to make sure this evil plan came to fruition.
Hey He wasn't a demon!
I even gave him a loaf of banana bread!

I had an experience today that made me think alot about people.
She replied, a 9/12 world?"
I said remember the day after 9/11 and months following, people gave their own blood, and money, and homes to help others" What have we come to that people won't stop for a woman and a littlle girl.... Remind you of anything from scripture? Any thoughts?
What would you do? What if you drove by someone tomorrow?
I used to stop and help almost anyone, especially a woman. But now days, you assume everyone has a cell, and often, when I have stopped to help, the woman seemed to be too frightened to even roll the window down. So I rarely even stop any more. I usually just pass 'em on by.
Yesterday, however I did stop. I had seen her when I was going to McDonalds, and so I said to myself, "Self, if she is there, when you come back toward home, you stop and ask if you can help. Maybe she has some banana bread." I said to myself, "OK, Bro-Lar, I'll do that."
I try to size up the situation, as much as possible, to minimize their anxiety. I saw she had her window partially down, because of the heat. I also noted that there was a lot of traffic there. I always try to stop in front of their vehicle, to be sure they see me and maybe I won't frighten them." She said her husband was on his way, so I went on my way.
That's my thoughts. That's what I did, when I drove by someone yesterday. BTW: she didn't offer me any banana bread.

I generally will not stop to help a man, if he is by himself. I will stop for a man with his family. If a woman has a child or other women with her I will stop to help. I generally will not stop if a woman is by herself though.
I will usually stop and ask if they need help, or if I can call someone for them. What I really hate is seeing someone walking in 90+ heat in here. If I know them, which is likely here, I will give them a ride. If they are not among the ever growing meth and crack users in our little town.
