I understand that. we all have those kinds of things. As i said, it was quite spicific and based on the actual reality of that one situation.

Sherri, I am not above making broad generalizations from time to time, but God help me to be wise enough to limit those occasions.


Its funny. while I was posting that, i had 2 very large ex-upc churches from the Dallas area in mind. One I would consider "gone charismatic" the other not at all. Both have left teaching standards and such. but I would NEVER put the first in the same catagory as the second.

and NO MARK I aint naming names!

Probably feel the same way as some of us who are told that we are legalist, or are too ignorant to study scripture.

So I understand.

BTW, I think MOW & you would be considered more liberal instead of charismatic!

I don't know the Heard's personally, but I do know the Shockley's and I don't think they would be a part of something that did not teach any kind of sanctification/holy living.
