Doesn't Acts 2:38 point to the exact same Jesus the rest of your stones point to?
As to preaching standards where there is a great mix of churches, I would agree that specifics (ie. sleeve length, bad colors, etc.) and personal interpretation some not be preached, but an over all general holiness message is always in order.

Dan ... that's what is being discussed in this thread ... it's seems to always be in order...

People are hungry and need daily life principles and applications ....

And yes all Scripture points to Jesus Christ.

I like that Daniel, was it recorded by any chance? Your teaching on stones?

His text came from Joshua. He spoke about the stones set up as a memorial in the Jordan when the Israelites passed over on dry ground and what they should tell their children in time to come when they ask what these stones mean.

Reminds me of the kind words of a good friend who used this text to describe how one day ... one of the stones he will teach his son about is my father.

Sure these stones represent heritage ... yet ironically the stones that Joshua was instructed to lay down as a memorial of course are landmarks to God being their salvation and bringing them to the land of Promise ...

Yet these stones also represent an entire older generation that did not enter the land of Promise, including their leader Moses .... except for Joshua and Caleb, of course.

They went around in circles for 40 years in a dry desert.

I guess I should learn Spanish since I live in Texas.

That's right.
