Remind Us Again Why We Ignore this Passage

Matthew 28:19 (King James Version)

19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.

We practice what the apostles commanded, baptism in the NAME of Jesus Christ.

Many DO ignore it because they have a Trinitarian phobia. Some folks are so fearful of appearing trinity that they actually avoid biblical language like "Jesus is the son of God" and Mt. 28:19. One of my "pet" sayings to our staff and people is that we NEVER need to be afraid of truth and that truth needs no defense.

I guess I am needing a little help in what exactly you mean. It is definitely not ignored in our church.

Since it is scripture, why can't someone be baptized like this?

I doubt anyone is denying Jesus is the name.

Perhaps people confuse someone telling them to be baptized (Matt 28:19) and actually doing the baptizing (Acts 2:38)?

WE are the only people who do baptize like this. The command was obeyed by those who heard it and they did it in Jesus Name.
