Sis Alvear will appreciate these........

We have had a couple visiting our church from Brazil for the past 3 weeks. Absolutely adorable. They are the sweetest people you could have ever met. We don't want to let them go back home cuz we love 'em so much!!!

Marcos was preaching on Sunday morning. He told a story about how when our church sent a team to Brazil for a mission trip, our pastor preached in their service. He was speaking about the 3 men who worked, one all day, one 1/2 of a day and 1 for one hour. At the end of that time, Pastor Andy said to them, "Now it's PAYDAY!!" and throws his hands up in the air in victory! Marcos, who was translating for Andy in that service was dying at this point. And the congregation was horrified. Because according to Marcos, what Pastor Andy just said to them was, "And now I just farted!" ROFL!!!!!

Later in the day, we took Marcos and Michelle out for lunch. After lunch, the guys came back to our house to look at the HO scale trains and we girls went shopping. On the way home, I asked Michelle was different animals or birds she had seen here. then I suggested that maybe we should drive through the MetroPark to "see if we can spot any deer in the woods.". Michelle doesn't speak much English. But she turned as red as could be. Kathy, we was with us, told me that in Portguese, I had just said that we should go see if we any male homosexuals in the woods. Ooops!!

Too funny!!! This reminds me of a story here. A guy in our church has led several trips to Panama. The last time, he and the pastor from Panama were sitting in a restaurant and he thought he would try out his limited Spanish. He tried to order milk and actually had asked the waitress if she would nurse him! After that, the Pastor did all the ordering.
