Re: Whoa! Polygamist solution is frightening...

Hmmm....

Just heard on news here that now they have found proof of abuse (broken bones and recently broken yet healed bones in very young children) this is sad!

I guess you mean they found video tapes or other doctumentation??

Evidence of broken bones NOT being found in a large family of children would be unusual I would think.

I recall at least 5 in our family of of nine growing up... there was no child abuse in our family.

What they said is there are many of the very young children who currently have broken bones.... I dont mean over a time period I mean current... and others that have broken bones that have just healed... if you are looking at a mass about of broken bones there is an issue!??! Yea I have kids and they have hurt themselves (no broken bones yet) but if I took all 4 of my kids in at once and they had broken bones CPS would be here in a second flat!

Oh and BTW... wasnt saying this is fact or not... just what they are reporting as a new finding.

My son went through a period of time where he cracked his head several times in a fairly short period of time. We were thinking of signing up for the frequent visitor card at the hospital. Do you think the tenth visits free?

2. Not let their passions become inflamed so that reason and civil rights were trampled and innocent children caught in the crossfire.

Exactly when were civil rights trampled?

3. Not gone onto ranch with 700 government agents (many of them armed and dangerous) under guise of distress phone call that was not timely responded to if had been of any real concern.

Remember probable cause wasn't even an issue with Lawrence v Texas. Maybe those Texans just do things differently.

4. Not taken young children and babies from their mothers or at the very least given them back as soon as they recognized that:

a. there were no current child brides
Arey You sure?
b. there were no signs of physical or emotional abuse
Are You sure?
c. Sarah was obvious hoax
d. the sect was not violent nor irrational
I'd say that deluded prophets forcing marriage on minors IS irrational, and the State of Texas calls it accomplice to rape.

There are a total of 463 FLDS children - 250 females, 213 males - in state custody in Texas. Here is a breakdown of that count:
* 0-2: 101, 49 females, 52 males
* 3-5: 99, 46 females, 53 males
* 6-9: 131, 68 females, 63 males
* 10-13: 62, 34 females, 28 males
* 14-17: 42, 27 females, 15 males
* Disputed age: 26 females, now classified as 17 or younger.
* Two boys who turned 18 while in state custody also have voluntarily chosen to stay with younger boys.

That is for starters....
Nina

LOL... I do understand... as I said we havent suffered broken bones in the kids as of yet but our youngest always walked around with a sippy cup.. well one day she fell... nothing big just walking and fell.. put her teeth thru her thin part of her chin... ER....

That healed and 2 weeks later (they had said it would be so very easy to do again as that area (the area where it changes from lip to chin) is so thin... well she turned over in bed and poof... teeth thru again... ER again

In 3 yrs we ended up getting this re stitched 4 times!!! I do understand how kids can be

LOL! So true. My son had ripped his leg open and needed 20 stitches THEN he flips over his bicycle and cuts his face by the eyebrow. They have both on record.

I told him to go take a shower so I could look at it. I then called a friend because my husband wasn't home and described the cut - "Will this type of cut leave a scar if I don't get stitches?" "Yes, go to the emergency room." lol

So, the doctor looks at me as though suspecting I had hurt him. lol

I did put my foot down on the x-rays. lol His arms and legs were working fine. lol

Ok when I mentioned this I was just stating something I heard on news... however... if it is a case of many children with many broken bones do we not think thats an issue? This is more added that if indeed true... they do not need to be returned to their parents...

Yeah stuff happens. If you had been on a "being watched" list that could have triggered an investigation.
