Great Things Said. I Know Some Pastors Or Churches Do. But, Trust Me. Not For The Most Part.
Here Is The Question. How Often Does Our Pastors Preach On Life Issues?
I Was Raised In Lousiana. My Pastor In Lafayette Taught Twice A Year To Any 13 And Up Year Olds About Being A Man.
Sorry...been around too long to "trust you" on this.
I know better.

That's weird. EVERY upc church I have been in I have heard it preached very strongly that one MUST have a personal, individual relationship with the Lord.
I can't think of any single apostolic/oneness church I have ever been to that this was not a major doctrine held forth.
I was raised in such a church. Didn't know anything about a relationship with Jesus until I was almost 30 and attending another church after being 'backslid' for several years.

I've gone and done it now! I'm on Facebook!!!
When you preach relationship one feels compelled to spend more time explaining that you're not "letting go of anything" etc than getting the actual message across.
That whole relationship thing must sound a little charismatic to folks.
Sad
hush your mouth......
you mean to tell me that Relationship does NOT equal letting go of everything else????
Holy high heels and mini skirts I got that one wrong.
Could it be some are more concerned with being good Pentecostals, more than they are concerning about being disciplined Christians ?

There they can find plenty of fault.
Okay, Okay. My bad guys. I guess what Im really trying to say is that it has always seemed to focus on the salvation part, and not the keeping the salvation part
Not all are guys and thanks for rewording this.., please do us all a favor and take that into consideration in the future.... we are as I said before not real fond on preacher bashing threads around here!

Sorry you were subjected to that. Where do you go to church? Most preachers I have heard do just the opposite. Focus on staying right once you are saved. And teach it from the Word.

That is so sad H1, hope you have a better pastor and church now.
