They are in Canada as well, but this isn't always the case.
Don't get me wrong, I think polygamy & being forced to marry underage is all wrong, I just think that the Government is quick to aqct quickly & rashly.
As one person stated, it is okay for gay couples to have kids, or a crack head parent, but have a religious belief and.......

I don't believe as they do, but the Amish I have a lot of respect for.

I would venture to guess they had taking the kids out of the complex planned in advance. Getting something like that organized is not something that's done in the drop of a hat.

If all of this is verified fact, can you provide me some sources so I can know for sure all this was happening?

It is my understanding that the "innocent until proven guilty" idea is some times suspended in cases where abuse is feared. Children can be removed from a situation if abuse is suspected so that it can be investigated. That's the way the government works and it is within the law.

Give me a break, they don't always let crack heads keep their children either. And they are not after them for their relegious beliefs, I don't understand why people don't get that.
I take it that all of y'all that thinks that Texas is out to get these people because of their relegious beliefs, have not ever been molested or have it happen to your children. Thank the Lord for that. But there are a lot of children that are living that kind of life right now. The only difference in those men and the pedophile's that hunt for kids is, they are provided for them by their parents under the guise of relegion. The reality is 12-15 yr old children that are raped go through a lot of physical and emotional pain. If it was happening or happened to your children what would you want the law to do about it?
The state of Texas still has sodomy laws I think. And I don't know of many gay people that adopted children here.

You are absolutely right Sam, and sometimes the claims are false, but the state's real focus should always be that children are out of harms way. But they really do try to keep family's together so that the children are not torn from their families.
This is just on such a large scale that it is not comprehendible for some people.

The state had to have evidence for a warrant to be served. Not just a phone call should be able to do that. Unless the caller was very specific.

Well they do allow alcoholics, crackheads, and gays to adopt & keep kids most every where else-maybe not in Texas!
One question, do you have factual proof that all 400 kids are being abused?
We have a polygamist sect in B.C. here and the Government watches them like a hawk & they allow the media to come in because they are being watched carefully.
As far as can tell there has been no abuse a7 some have left that sect.
This sect today, Pentecostal families tomorrow!

Yes they do allow that Ron even in Texas. The kids they took were abused kids and products of abuse.
I can no longer discuss this topic.
See you on another thread.

Re: Whoa! Polygamist solution is frightening...
I saw snippets of a TV talk show where they were talking about the abuse of not allowing these children to watch TV, dress "normal", cut hair and go to public school.
At least one "professional" on the show was saying THAT constitutes abuse.
