John McCain.

From the Left:

McCain is currently in the position of having to select a VP running mate. There was speculation about Gov. Romney joining McCain on the ticket. Certainly any highly negative images of Mormonism in the media would present a significant obstacle to Romney in the American social consciousness, thereby hindering McCain from selecting a man who could be a rather popular VP candidate.

This was just a crazy thought I had in my crazy little brain. LOL
Hmmm. I see your point about Romney, but I think it would be a repercussion, not a deliberate act on the part of the state of Texas. They've been watching these folks for awhile.

I agree sis. I don't think this was planned per se...but I do see this has having those possible repercussions on the election.

potential political angles:

1) Outreach to immigrants and minorities: Look! We prosecute our whitebread freaks but leave your precious "cultural heritage" practices alone.

2) A warning to child molesters everywhere that the system works ceaselessly to root them out - even in an election year!

3) The same and worse to anybody who even THINKS of supporting Mitt Romney again!

4) Reinforcing the importance of teacher unions in protecting the practice of institutionalized child exploitation. These guys were sequestered & independent. If you want to get in on the action, you've got to pay your dues!

5) All politics are local. And see, the local law enforcement people are working hard, HARD, I say, at enforcing some of the laws. Selectively. And at the expense of several other laws. But see how HARDWORKING they are?????

6) CPS workers now make up a sizeable voting bloc. This sort of thing makes them drool.

7) Extra-subtle peer pressure: Those people voted Reeee-PUB-Lick'n Anybody that votes Reeee-PUB-Lick'n must be just like THEM!!!!!

8) Conditioning the country for a Hillary presidency, during which putting one's faith in action will be made illegal, if it's a faith associated with white people.

Your turn.

I haven't read the entire thread...

But I do Applaud Texas for removing the kids out of their situation regardless of their beliefs... No Child should be abused as should no adult...

Those folks brains have been scrambled and for the adults to be able to continue contact is dangerous to the child's welfare...

What was the typical age of marriage in biblical times?

Certainly in modern America marriage to a girl below the age of consent would be a criminal offense. My question is would a man marrying a woman so young be considered immoral in biblical times?
