standards can caused heated discussions and separate best of friends...I think we should realize we all have our opinions what standards are...and we all keep them as we see them.

Someone said to me when I quoted that scripture that those that differ are not our brothers...if you feel that way then above all you are required to love...
Someone said that to you? That is so terribly sad. You are so right Sister, love is what is missing.
thanks dizzy! I needed to be reminded of that.....
Ok, I must be sensitive. The last couple of days I have been annoyed with people mocking others beliefs or just implying tasteless junk about people just because they don't agree with them.....
Oh, maybe I need an espresso... I haven't had one for a couple of days either. Maybe I am having withdrawals! Give me coffee lest I go insane!
*walk away from the computer ladychocolate... just walk away* *go to a safe place, they have one for you*
Well, I think that there is a lot of mocking that goes on, and I am not a fan of it, regardless of my beliefs or feelings about any given subject. I wonder sometimes why people feel so free to mock those they don't agree with, do they show this kind of behavior when they are dealing with Buddhists or Muslims?
I absolutely know that there are mean-spirited people on either side of the issue with no Christian charity in their hearts at all. But I also know that there are good, Godly people on either side of the issue, trying to follow God the best that they possibly can.
This endless finger pointing, and assuming that because someone has been in or around ANY group for however many years makes them a specialist just makes me want to bang my head up against a wall. Assumptions are the fall back beliefs of the ignorant, IMO.
The thing that distresses me the most is this "eye-for-an-eye" mentality. The "I'm gonna give as good as I get", I must have missed that section in the Bible. We teach our children not to engage in this behavior, (at least I hope most of us are) yet we have no problem acting it out ourselves.
Climbing back down off of my soapbox...
BTW, I do love you ALL, or I wouldn't be arround here!! You get under my skin sometimes, but then again, so do my siblings!!!
Corinthians 13
Love
1If I speak in the tongues[a] of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames,[b] but have not love, I gain nothing.
4Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
8Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. 11When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. 12Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.
13And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
