This is what I sent out to grandkids, friends, family, etc a couple of days ago.
Sunday will be Easter.
Usually we think about the Easter Bunny and about Easter Candy.
I like the Easter Bunny and I really love candy.
But Easter means a lot more than that.
Almost 2000 years ago Jesus died on a cross.
He died for our sins so we don't have to be punished for them.
The real good news is not just that He died but that He rose from the dead and He's still alive.
And that's the real reason we celebrate Easter.
The Bible says in John chapter 3, verse 16 that
God loves you and me and everyone in the world
so much that He gave His Son for us. Jesus died
on the cross for our sins. He took the punishment
we deserve. Now, if we believe in Him and ask
Him into our life, He will forgive all our sins and
give us eternal life.
