Evangelisticly Speaking Is Not A New Thing In Pentecost !

About 60 Years Ago

There Wuz An Evangelistic Team that traveled thruout the

southern states - { Bro "R" & Bro "H" }

The Tall Sandyheaded Bro "R" Played A Large Gibson Guitar

And

The Short Stubby Darkheaded Bro "H" Played An Accordian -


They were very effectual and, as a matter of fact, one of my

sisters received the Holy Ghost in one of their Tent Meetings -




I well remember Bro "H" as he mesmerized the audience while

taking up the offering. He would tearfully explain how his precious

little mother was picking cotton @ 2 Cents a pound in order to

help keep them on the Evangelistic Field -He WUZ Sooooooo Good

at this. You could just visualize her Little Bleeding Boney Fingers

Gently Pulling The Cotton And Placing in that Long Heavy Cotton

Sack and then see her frail body dragging that heavy sack thru that

Hot Cotton Field. By the time he got thru The PEOPLE WOULD RUSH

TO THE FRONT AND GIVE HIM THEIR LAST DOLLAR !




BUT He Had A Serious EXAGGERATION Problem !

He would get carried away while preaching and his stories got taller

and taller. He would tell of recent revivals where 10 had got saved

and the more he told that story with the multiplying numbers that

were baptized you would think that you were at a

Recent Conference !




FINALLY

Bro "R" Talked To Bro "H' and told him that he was NOT going to

continue Evangelizing with him BECAUSE OF THE PROBLEM.


Bro "H' Tearfully Repented and asked for Bro 'R's" Forgiveness And Help



SO They Came Up With The Following Solution

When Bro "H" would start to Exaggerate,

Bro "R" Was To Tug On Bro "H's" Coattail !

This seemed to work real well



UNTIL

Bro "H" began telling those country folks

about their trip to New York City.

He was telling them about seeing all of them Huge Buildings

and that the Empire State Building Was Simply

The Biggest Building In The Entire World !


" IT WAS OVER A MILE LONG'
he excitedly explained


and then he said
" IT WAS OVER A MILE HIGH "

{
Just Then Bro "R" reached over and began to tug

on Bro "H's" coattail -

Then

Bro "H" Hurriedly Said

" AND IT WAS ONLY

AN INCH WIDE " !



So You See
