Not So Secret....

MY Purpose in Life...

I recieved a call from our Youth Pastor this morning asking if we would help with the Youth Party that evening by helping Cook....
and there I was standing over a fry cook stove tonight cooking about 100 or so greasy hamburgers for a Youth Party with a 50's Theme and it was hot, greasy and FUN!!!

I had not had that experiance before in cooking..that is over a beautiful commecial stove complete with cook top...and commercial ventilation...

I had the experiance of a Short-order cook this evening and it was a blast...

My wife and others taking the orders..of Hamburgers...Corn Dogs...Frys....Coke...RootBeer Floats....and Brownie Hot Fudge Sundays....

On the way home I begin to think about our Purpose in Life and it suddenly hit me....The Answer..

I have had the privilidge to stand before folks and preach to audiences large and small....We have had dinners for homeless....pot-lucks for couples and cleaned the bathrooms at the church....We have had small group Bible studies and cleaned up after everybody had gone... We have been out late...and up early to work at the Church... We have got off work and went to Church....so many things that we do...As well as so MANY others who do the same....everyday....Day In...Day Out...

and I thought about the millions of Book Sales....of the Purpose Driven Life....to folks who were longing for purpose...longing to find purpose....desiring definition to their lives.... and I then as I was thinking,
the Answer came...

MY Whole Purpose in Life is to Make the Kingdom of God Work!!!

IN whatever position I am in...In whatever Location I find myself....in whatever area I am in...in whatever Situation I find myself.... Making the Kingdom of God work is my Sole Purpose....Whether I'm behind a cookstove...or a Pulpit...at the Coffee Shop or Home... Making the Kingdom of God MY Priority and My Life and Furthering His Work on this Earth while it is yet Day.....IS the Greatest Purpose I can achieve....

Awesome post, revrandy!! Thanks for this. We are starting a new SS program and I just didn't feel geared up for it. Sometimes it just feels like a routine, even with all the stuff I do with it.

So, thanks - I just want to make the Kingdom of God work!!!!
