Helping Smaller Churches

I was thinking about this when I read in the "Preacher _____" thread.
It does cost a fair bit to live in this day & age and if you have the means you should treat the man of God fairly.

My Pastor has been known to treat Men of God more than fair (evangelist words)
He either puts them up in a nice hotel, or at their place. He takes them sightseeing if they wish, takes them to a nice restaurant.

At the end of the week they can end up with a good chunka change at the end of the preaching whether it is one service or multiple.

He also has brought in an evangilist and covered the cost and had the Evangelist preach for other smaller Churches.

Which leads me to this question.
Forgive me if this is a stupid one.

Why don't some of the bigger Churches sponser revivals for smaller ones who may not be able to afford an evangelist by covering his costs while preaching for the smaller church?

What do you think?

because some churches are "their church" minded instead of "Kingdom" minded.... if something does not show a benefit to their people, their church... they would be reluctant to do it....

not every church is like that though....

Do you think that it is an idea that could/should be pursued?

WI currently hosts the SOAR program which runs on the same principle....

HM division also provides small churches with budgets to do revivals, rent places of worship, etc.... theoretically, "mother churches" should already be doing this for their "daughter" works....

That is good to hear.
The Daughter work idea is a good one that I think more Churches will explore.
I forgot about the daughter works.

Maybe some bigger churches think THEY are it and smaller churches should really disband and just make the bigger church even bigger? That seems to be how many Americans think as a trend...bigger is better.

Why not have a preaching pool in each district were men qualified to preach, would be listed and they'd preached for churches that could not afford an evanglist? There are plenty of good preachers helping larger churches that could and probably would preach for preach'n sake.

Well their are advantages and disadvantages to big churches.
One thing to consider, some Churches will never be mega Churches.

Their will always be smaller Churches around.

Sure. It would probably such that a Pastor would have to recommend the man to get on the list. Maybe even make it part of the requirement for getting licensed.
