CC, you are too funny... there are divorced people out there that still get along well with their ex's.... even enough to work or do something like singing together.

In their case, i say it is because she has come to a place of true forgiveness for what he did to her... moved on w/life.

been there and done that... you get to a place that there isn't anything but a caring friendship left in that place where the marriage was.

I didn't know LW when he fell, so it was not my place to restore him, but I have great confidence in those who have helped LW in his restoration. Men like Jim Cymbala, Kenny Foreman, and other great pastors.

I would've never had Lanny at my church were I not convinced he had repented, made things right with God, and been restored to the Lord. I don't know how long it will take him to be restored to those he offended. The final accounting will probably be at the Judgment Seat of Christ. But, that doesn't disqualify him for ministry, any more than it does Geron Davis, Dottie Rambo, Mark Hanby, and I could go on and on.

You folks have got to realize that the body of Christ is bigger than the UPC or OP. You're not going to stand before the General Superintendent at the Judgment. And, thank God, Lanny Wolfe isn't going to stand before YOU! Leave it in the Lord's hands, and MOVE ON! You've got enough to answer for yourself...unless you've reached perfection.

I have never known the pastors you mentioned to preach against fornication. As far as the others I have heard Dottie Rambo came clean but don't know that story either.

Do you believe a practicing homosexual will go to heaven?

Thanks for sharing.... it was a trip down memory lane... so many of those songs are from my childhood... and the songs evoke great memories and times where "surely the presense of God" was in the place and met me in my time of need.

I am glad they are friends and on speaking terms. It is still weird to have a gospel group made up of a divorced couple.

Not unless they fornicate again. If they sincerely repent then God forgives. However as a forgiven fornicator that persons "problem" area will be known and common sense will cause both themselves and others to guard against it happening again.

WOW!! Been there done that, twice, and can't imagine having a caring friendship with either!!

I can't imagine having a friendship with someone I couldn't stay married to, that being said, I don't go for hateful bitter relationships either. Somewhere in the middle, cordial, perhaps.

I commend you, you apparently are a bigger person than I am!!

was married to him for 13 years... today would have been our 19th anniversary if we hadn't been divorced.

He has some issues mainly drugs are his first love. I have helped him get off drugs 2 times in the last several years where he lived in our home from 2 weeks to this past time 3 months. He remarried in 05 and I have had both him and his wife in my home on many occaisions.. holidays and when they visited our girls.

I had a dream when we first divorced of his "girlfriend" who he had met at a party doing drugs, receiving the Holy Ghost in my brother's church... even in all the pain of the divorce, I prayed for her.... God doesn't show things like that to me if he didn't want me to pray for them... so I did. She received the HOly Ghost 2 years later standing in the very altars I saw her in my dream. They married and attended church together for quite a while. She was a wica witch, but he took the time to teach her the truth... in all of his problems, I know of at least 5 people he has brought to the Lord either through teaching them/praying for them to recieve the HOly Ghost... or brought them to church after giving them studies. He just can't serve God himself... we have a lot of "saints" that haven't done that.

I truly have forgiven him of anything he has ever done... I will always care for him and his soul. It isn't that I can't get along with him... to me that isn't even grounds for divorce. He has a first love that controls his life... he is guilty of adultery... so we are divorced.

I think what you will find is that pastors that knew LW and the situation at JCM well, will not use him.

Those that know him as an aquaintence, and only by his obvious musical talent and songwriting may indeed offer to use him. His songs are/were truly annointed. LW hasn't forgotten how to move in the spirit at a concert.

You have a good spirit, acharris, and I know that you mean well! What you haven't heard yet, is the tearful personal testimony of someone that experienced abuse at LW's hands. I know of one where there has never been an apology offered!
This is truly a sad situation! Please understand that I know it's easier to forgive or take someone at face value if you only know half of the story!

The bolded sentence above really captured my attention. You brought up a very important detail that needed to be addressed and that was the victims that LW left in his wake! LW clearly was a predator that took advantage of young people and if he has sought forgiveness from God he must seek forgiveness from his victims.
