Happy Thanksgiving, Elder...trust you and your family are well.
Have a quick question and then need to get back to the kitchen...do you really think that the UPCI will drop dress and such with the advent of tv advertising?!

Television has nothing to do with it. As times change and the John Maxwellians keep marching toward commercializing the United Pentecostal Church International, they will eventually modify their standards so that over time they will cease to exist all together. Television is just a marketing plan for corporate churchanity to increase her business. That's just normal for any corporation in today's market. The holiness standards will eventually fall to the wayside as the gray heads fade away and the young bulls move the corporation to its next level.
This is a sad fact, but all McChruches end up moving towards this end, and may we all pray for our Brothers and Sisters as this whole drama runs its course.
Bro Benincasa-
I would take your attitude toward me personally, but it seems you have an attitude with everybody. But, I'll take your curt reply as that you don't want to have to admit you were wrong... Something you seem to be quite often, but rarely, if ever, admit to.
I take it from you rather impolite "OUTSIDER" remark that you think I am, in fact, a member of the UPCI. That assumption would be laughable if it weren't for the fact that your arogance is so sad.
The fact is, not that you care about anything other than your own opinions, I am not, nor have I ever been a member of the UPCI. Further, I can count exactly one time that I have ever been in a UPC church in Florida. Oh, I did install Heating and Air Conditioning in a UPC church in Tennessee, but that doesn't really count.
May you have a Happy Thanksgiving, and may God bless you with a better attitude this Christmas season.

Praise the Lord, everyone... I've never actually posted here although I've been reading and analyzing numerous threads over the past few weeks with increasing interest and intermittent dismay. I am a UPCI Pastor's wife, and I love all of God's people across the Oneness Pentecostal movement. Why is it assumed that the advent of television advertising/broadcasting will sound the death knell for outward holiness standards in the UPCI when the ALJC'ers actually watch TV and look the same as those in the UPC? I just don't follow the logic, especially when -- and I don't think this can be stressed enough -- no one is advocating the introduction of television into UPC ministerial households or otherwise. Am I simply naive, or is the threat of a decline in holiness a real and present danger?

Observation From an Outsider was a wonderful insider observation. Listen sorry if you can't take my love for fun, but we are all together whether or not you or I were ever UPCI. I can say that I was never UPCI, (because I was never part of UPC fellowship church) but we are one in the same group as Apostolic Pentecostals.
Now I commented on how your post gushed all over with UPCness and thought that was FUNNY, too bad that it's YOUR attitude that seems to be a little off.
I answered with a "NO" because of your TUDE, in how you asked for my explanation. So to keep it light I answered with the "NO" and the little so One Accord take it easy and please don't take the forum too serious, and if you ever do, my suggestion is that you take a break.
There is lots of wisdom in this letter.... but I take issue w/ the above quote.
Why be reactive ... when you can be proactive???
I think he's trying to persuade people not to make a knee-jerk type reaction.

All I did was ask for an explanation. No apology needed. I should apologize to you for my harshness. I appreciate your statement above (in bold). We are one big happy family. Well, big anyway!

I posted this morning, said it to one of my brothers, and also to a sister in the Lord...my mantra this Thanksgiving is, I am resigned to letting Almighty God have His way.
There is nothing else to do I suppose...pray and trust God to direct His Church.
Bernard reminds me of a horse with blinders on, seeing only what he wants to see when he turns his head a certain way. Although I agree with his stance more than the ultra-cons, I can't understand it.
