GL, here's what happens with some of these guys.
They wink and nod and act tolerant of you sometimes. But the whole time they're considering how they can convert you to an "anything goes" theology.
They pity you, and say things like "oh, you will eventually see the truth."
They are not happy until they have "reformed" you. I guess I'm the one that got away.

Just for the record here too - she was not saying it was you, just this thread got someone else riled up enough to send her the message.

This is interesting to me today especially. I was made to wear a 24 hour heart monitor today and have to have a bunch of heart tests/blood work done. My doctor (who is a Christian) asked me if it would go against my religious convictions to drink a glass of wine each night to calm my jumpy heartbeat. I told him that I just could not do it, and that also anyone doing ministry in our church signs a covenant not to consume any alcohol. He was very respectful and said then that I should not have any. I have to believe that God will honor that obedience.
Anyway, this thread came up at an interesting time for me!

Yes they are - they don't put their brains into gear before they speak.

Just curious: are you "The Closer" and do I owe you?
Also, what about communion wine? Personally I go with whatever is served up but I was curious about the "covenant" you mentioned.

If you are talking about "the Closer" that was on here, NO that's not me. I only use this one name and it's the real me.
Anyone who is on the platform or teaching or in any kind of ministry position with our churches has to sign a ministry covenant that has about ten points on it, but one of them is abstaining from alcohol. So I could not partake of wine; I would feel like I was going against what I pledged. Hope this makes sense.
