According to the Hadiths he will unite the Arab world and bring the entire world into compliance with Islamic law.

It already has been like that for decades now. Jewish, Christian, Islamic and Armenian. Four quarters.

Jerusalem was divided into the four quarters since the 1967 war. Prax, why would you expect it to be divided if it has been that way for 40 years?

I mean it a little differently. I don't mean like a neighborhood is divided into black and white or Italian and Irish. I mean it will officially be divided with a Universal Church for Christians. The Temple for Jews and the Mosque for the Muslims.
BTW I have read a number of News articles about how the populations of Christians in Palestine are dwindling because the Muslims persecute them

You're thinking in a different line than I am.
I'm talking about Jerusalem becoming an International city under the UN control and officially being divided. Im not talking about Neighborhoods.
Jerusalem is claimed by Israel, yet Palestine claims it belongs to them....ALL of it. I think the UN eventually might see the best solution is to take it over and make these areas offically Jewish areas, Christian areas and Islamic areas...sort of like three cities.

Three? Because of " Rev 16:19 KJV And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath." ??

No, because I think that just seems the logical conclusion the UN will come up with to please everyone.
Also, when the EU was started the Vatican fought desperately to be taken into consideration. I think the Vatican wants Jerusalem for it's spiritual headquarters.
It just makes sense with the three major "religions" all claiming Jerusalem for it's own.
Though that verse does speak of it being divided into three. Not sure what the symbolism means there but I can see it referring to the city being divided

Just food for thought... I believe the verse in Rev it refers to this:
Eze 5:1-5 KJV And thou, son of man, take thee a sharp knife, take thee a barber's razor, and cause it to pass upon thine head and upon thy beard: then take thee balances to weigh, and divide the hair. (2) Thou shalt burn with fire a third part in the midst of the city, when the days of the siege are fulfilled: and thou shalt take a third part, and smite about it with a knife: and a third part thou shalt scatter in the wind; and I will draw out a sword after them. (3) Thou shalt also take thereof a few in number, and bind them in thy skirts. (4) Then take of them again, and cast them into the midst of the fire, and burn them in the fire; for thereof shall a fire come forth into all the house of Israel. (5) Thus saith the Lord GOD; This is Jerusalem: I have set it in the midst of the nations and countries that are round about her.

Let the bible interpret itself.

How do we know that refers to this though?
Rev 16:17 The seventh angel poured out his bowl into the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple, from the throne, saying, "It is done!"
Rev 16:18 And there were flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder, and a great earthquake such as there had never been since man was on the earth, so great was that earthquake.
Rev 16:19 The great city was split into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell, and God remembered Babylon the great, to make her drain the cup of the wine of the fury of his wrath.
Rev 16:20 And every island fled away, and no mountains were to be found.
Rev 16:21 And great hailstones, about one hundred pounds each, fell from heaven on people; and they cursed God for the plague of the hail, because the plague was so severe.
