Again, you put "separated" in quotes implying what?
The fact is "separated" groups and "closed cultures" do not often encourage their youth to pursue higher learning in colleges and universities, community service, and go engaging the culture on reality TV shows...
I still think many of you EXers are on a pendelum swing :gclock from a UPC of the past. Oh, I know there are still some examples for you to give me, but it is not the current direction of the UPCI you have strong issue with... IMHO

Well I am getting ready to make the whole bunch mad. I think most of you folks have separation anxiety yourselves. You can't get past it. Many of you have been gone for years but yet hang on every piece of information about the UPC. Maybe they are just braver than y'all. I think if TB could join without violating his conscience he would be in before the meeting is over. I have sensed some yearning in him also. All the bragging he has done about the ACOP to me it seems he was trying to convince himself. But the new birth is a 'biggie' to him and he is not going to lie. We do not agree but he is an honest man. However if they would give him some latitude he is gone.

I would expect the body of Christ to be a 'tight' community.

True but those who have corporate legalism rules define their standing with God tend to have a stronger community because it is a unique culture built around those particular rules and regulations.
Christians who do not engage in the extreme seperatism / dress code, etc tend to view their Christianity more as something to be lived out in their normal everyday lives where they interact with everybody.
In other words where I might go to a professional sports game or a college or high school sports game with neighborhood or work friends a traditional UPCer type would only involve himself in church activities confined for the most part to others in his closed culture / value system.

I won't believe it until Felicity declares it, then I won't really believe it until TB says it is true.

Here we go Very much not true for my family and most in my church.
I am having fun CC1, but I am serious about my comments though. I would hope the "traditional UPCers", as you describe them, are becoming an anomaly in this generation.
Let's fess up. Devito is right, you suffer from separation anxiety!
