What Is The Third Heaven ?
I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago,{wheter in the body I cannot tell or wheter out of the body,I cannot tell :God knoweth:} such an one caught up to the third heaven. 2 COR. 12:2
What is the third heaven exactly ?

Where God rules from. The first is the sky, the second is the universe and the third is "Heaven"

- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
- Every sinner must repent of their sins.
- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
- The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

In 2 Cor. 12:1-4 Paul seems to use the term third heaven and Paradise interchangeably.

Perry Stone teaches that the third heaven is paradise but not heaven.
I think there is a teaching out there that teaches the righteous go to paradise and then later go to heaven or some such stuff.

It's based on Bro. Norris' chart (from the Apostolic Bible Inst. in St. Paul, MN).
I don't think I've heard him teach on this directly but I think he taught that Sheol was the place of the dead in the Old Testament and it was divided into two parts, one was Abraham's bosom and one was the fiery part. The Abraham's bosom part might also have been known as Paradise. Bro Norris taught that at the resurrection of Jesus, Paradise moved up into heaven and the spirit/soul of saved folks go there at death. At the rapture the soul/spirit will be reunited with the resurrected body and go into the New Jerusalem. The wicked will remain in Hades/Sheol until the second resurrection when they will leave there to be reunited with their resurrected body and stand before God at the White Throne Judgment.

One Pastor I heard taught that the theif on the cross didn't go to heaven but went an abode of the righteous dead awaiting to be resurrected.
