Antichrist a Muslim?

I listen to a lot of the "End time" preachers, mostly because they say some things that are just so funny. I have seen a trend recently though with most of them now claiming the "bible says" that antichrist will be a muslim. When did this start? I don't remember ever hearing anyone say this until the last few years.

Is this just a reaction to the things that have happened since 9/11?

Or do you think there is something to this?

They take the newspapers and try to make it fit... we have a pastor near by that still hangs on to the Kissinger antichrist theory of the 70's. He's quickly running out of time. I think Kissinger is in his 80's now. As the times change, so do interpitations. In the Old Testiment, they would stone these guys for missing the mark...

Just kidding of course... I see no biblical evidence that there is AN antichrist otehr than there being a spirit that is anti-Christ that was working in the time of the apostles and is, most assuredly, working today.

But it can't and won't be nailed down to one person.
