Hearing the Voice of God

I would like to see some deliberation on the matter of Hearing the Voice of God - how do you know that you have heard or not heard?

Have you heard the voice of God? How do you know that you head His voice? Are you sure what you heard was indeed HIS voice or was the voice of an imitator? How do you know the difference? How can you tell the voice of the imitator?

Jesus said, "My sheep know my voice and a stranger they will not follow."

Jhn 10:27 My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

Deliberate...

Stay tuned.

I have a feeling like we will learn how some know when the Word of the Lord has come to them.

Do you suppose God speaks to the mind of man? Do you suppose that rather, he speaks to the heart? But, what is the heart?

I know it is his voice and recognize it in the same way that I recognize my wife's voice--relationship and time spent talking with him.

How would you describe your loved one's voice to one who had never heard it?

You know it because you know it.

Of course, His voice will never, ever contradict His Word.

Amen. This is important.

However, I have found so many times that the Word of the Lord that comes to me will sometime contradict my interpretation of His Word.

Have you heard the voice of the Lord audibly as you hear your wife's voice?

Only about 3 times in y 37 years as a Christian have a "heard" the voice of the Lord.

In all occasions it was concerning a major direction my life.

Is that the only way that you have heard His voice? How many times have you heard it in an audible way?

During a major decision in life is the time that you need to hear His voice more than any other time.

But then, in ministry, hearing his voice is very, very important.

I wish I could answer this question for you.

I have on a very few occasions heard His voice. But mostly it is in my spirit I hear Him.

But I went through a period of time I thought I heard His voice and it wasn't Him. Scripture didn't back it up. I have wondered where that voice came from and why?
