Psa 149:4 For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.
The meek. Not the arrogant, the proud scoffers who know it all. He will beautify the MEEK with salvation. The proud churchmen will be rejected as he rejected the Phariasees long ago. They had it all figured out. It was incomprehensible that anything good could come out of Nazareth. It did not fit their theology, nor did the birth of Jesus as it turned out fit their theology. Therefore they missed it, just like the proud are missing it today. Scoff on. Scoff on. But, like the man who said to Elisha, "If God opens up windows in heaven then it might be so." Like that scoffer, many will see it but it will be too late for them. The man died beneath the trampling feet of the crowd, seeing but unable to partake.
The MEEK are those who are pliable, flexible, yielded in the hands of God and to His word.
Psa 149:5 Let the saints be joyful in glory: let them sing aloud upon their beds.
The saints have every reason to be joyful. Not a hair shall fall from their head to be destroyed during the times of great indignation. Many promises of God's keeping power is extended to them.
Psa 149:6 [Let] the high [praises] of God [be] in their mouth, and a twoedged sword in their hand;
The weapons of their warfare are not carnal but are mighty through God.
Psa 149:7 To execute vengeance upon the heathen, [and] punishments upon the people;
Judgment wrought upon the earth will be through the saints of God, His ministers, His messengers of fire. His fire starters. His kindlers. His flames in the earth.
Psa 149:8 To bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;
The princes, the powers and potentates will not have the liberty to function in the presence of these great men in the earth in that day.
Psa 149:9 To execute upon them the judgment written: this honour have all his saints. Praise ye the LORD.
Judgment is given to the saints. It is their honour.
Dan 7:22 Until the Ancient of days came,
and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.
