Oye .... gringazo .... Have you ever had mangu????

Mangu is a traditional dish from the Dominican Republic, consisting of green platano bananas boiled, mashed and seasoned with butter or oil to get a better tasting. It is traditionally eaten for breakfast or dinner, topped with sauteed onions and accompanied by fried eggs, cheese or salami. The platano bananas (or plantains) are hard, starchy bananas used for cooking, as contrasted with the soft, sweet dessert varieties. [Wiki]

There's also mofongo ... another dish made w/ plantains.

Mofongo - Mofongo is a popular Afro-Boricua [Puerto Rican] dish, made from fried green plantains seasoned with garlic, olive oil and pork cracklings, then mashed. Mofongo is usually served with a fried meat and a fish broth soup.

If you can speak three languages you're trilingual. If you can speak two languages you're bilingual. If you can speak only one language you're an American. ~Author Unknown
